I was just tarred and feathered for allegedly having my phone turned off, when in fact, it was on and working.

This person came over and I showed my phone and it was on, but no message was there. This person proceeded to call me, and my phone rang. Immediately afterward I got the message which was time stamped over an hour in the past.

My phone was on, that much is for sure, but am I in the Twilight Zone or is this common?

Thanks.

I've had this happen to me a couple of times. On one occasion, the message was a full day late.

Does anyone actually know how this is happening?

Yes - SMS messages are sent on a regular basis to the Twilight Zone.

It happens more often than not with my unreliable mobile "service". I suggest voice or e-mail for important communication.
