Apirat pulls out of Army test visit at last minute

Army chief General Apirat Kongsompong, possibly in an attempt to avoid questions about politics, at the last minute cancelled his scheduled visit to the annual army endurance, English proficiency and general knowledge tests at the Command and General Staff College (CGSC)'s stadium in Bangkok on Friday, and instead assigned his assistant General Kukiat Srinaka to the task.

Drug addict jailed after threatening wife, kids

SATTAHIP:--Sattahip police arrested a drug addict who threatened to kill his wife and two children.

 

Jarat Injom, 39, was captured hiding in the bedroom of his Moo 4 village home where he had barricaded himself after wife Sangwein Prasannet, 34, called police.

Thai Rath reported that a tourist from New Zealand was recovering after he was plucked unconscious from the sea near the KC Grande Resort hotel on White Sand Beach on Koh Chang late yesterday afternoon.

Biker drives into tree in Sattahip

SATTAHIP:--A motorcyclist was severely injured when he drove into a tree in Sattahip.

 

Thanachai Topao, 36, survived hitting his head on the tree in a traffic island on Sukhumvit Road at Che junction, kilometer marker 169 Aug. 4 because he was wearing a helmet and because witnesses provided CPR after he stopped breathing.

Even though the schoolteacher in Sa Kaew’s Aranyaprathet district who slapped the face of his Mathayom 2 student has already resigned, relatives of the schoolboy said on Friday that they would today file a complaint with police as the boy and parents have allegedly been harassed and threatened by teachers and other individuals.
