A couple times per year the local thais setup a small karaoke, complete with big speakers, platform, and singer's mic with stand. In my room it's basically like they're trying to sing to me and the rest of my building.

 

What's the deal with this? Is it for birthdays? Or is it more a holiday thing? I'm on Soi Buakao in Pattaya which is a party area, my part of the street is usually quiet though

Go grab the mic and begin doing a gangster rap routine...they may move the venue to another location in the future!   ????
