New Password

Featured Replies

I was wondering if anyone could simply Show me how to go about changing my TOT internet password, The internet itself is superb even though we waited 6 years for it.  The problem is that one of the kids has divulged the Password to what it seems if the whole village,You should see the exodus when I switch the modem off!!!

So if anyone could find it in their hearts to give me a simple rundown I would be forever grateful.

 Thanks   Steve.

Suspect you must be talking about WiFi password.  I do not have TOT modem so not sure of procedure but this link might help.

You can change it by logging into your router as admin and changing it in the menu items available there.

Click the network icon on your computer or go to wifi settings of your smart device, then select the SSID to join the network.

Launch a web browser and enter http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar and press enter.

The login page for your router should appear.

Login as admin and key in the admin password (typically admin) and somewhere in the menu system should be an option to change the password.

There are likely at least 3 passwords:

a) the WLAN (Wireless LAN) password

b) the password to access the WLAN router

c) the password from the TOT which is saved in your router.

If you want to change a) you need b). Maybe it's written on the router or it is the default password (see above or check google)

If you don't know and can't find out b) then call your internet provider or the technician who installed it. They should know.

If you want to change c) call TOT to change it. But when they change it you also have to change it in your router for which you need password b)

Some providers can do all this (a,b,c) remotely if you call their support.

Or admin/tot.

Or they now use a more safe method and have a sticker on the router with the credentials(?).

Hint:

after changing the WiFi password don't tell it to the kids or write down but:

let them come to you and you enter the password.

On a regular Android phone they can not check what you have entered.

Use a purely numeric string (8 digits or more), so you don't have to fight with Thai keyboard.

There are much more sophisticated methods to exclude unwanted scroungers based on allowed MAC addresses. But too much effort for the purpose.
