Thepprasit Road given a makeover

 

PATTAYA:--Potholes and cracked pavements could soon be a thing of the past on Thepprasit Road as the city’s busy southern thoroughfare gets set for major restoration and improvement work over the coming months.

 

Pattaya Deputy Mayor Pattana Boonsawad led a team of officials to inspect damaged sections of the road on Sept. 11 as well as surveying the current progress of remedial roadwork, which started in June this year.

 

Motorists and pedestrians have been complaining about the condition of the road surface and neglected footpaths for some time, leading City Hall to earmark a multi-million baht budget for repairs and improvements.

Well actually not given a makeover only put on the queue behind Beach Road.

 

There's blind junction near me just been given a 'makeover'; well some workers had some tarmac left over from another job nearby.  It was spread about willy-nilly completely missing a huge pothole that every vehicle hits.

Hope they can wait a few months, there seems to be many main roads under repair. It is almost too much difficult to go anywhere in Pattaya. You'd think they'd move some of those ticket givers over to the traffic directing duties.

They could start by learning how to make a road correctly in the first place.

 

HINT: It does not involve slabs of concrete.

Great news as I drive it often living in Jomtien Moo12. Hope it works out better than Theppraya intersection on Pratumnak

    Of the major roads, one of the worst.  What it needs is a major makeover.  And, no, repairing the surface and adding some signs is not a 'makeover'.  A major makeover would be getting rid of the parking, adding a median and designated turning lanes, adding trees for shade, adding public parking lots along the route, adding public transportation, and improving the sidewalks.

It needs to become a max 50 km road.

Add more working traffic lights.

Add more Zebras.

Of the 3 or 4 major roads from Sukkumvith to the beach, the worst is by far Pattaya Tai

pot holes everywhere and each draining grid is a motorbike trap, 2 or 10 cm below the road surface

especially between Tukom and the junction with 2nd road

Not to mention the sewer stench right next to the steps of tukcom. On a "good" day it'll almost knock you out.

and what do you think will happen if MORE ZEBRAS are placed on the road.....NOTHING all thai drivers do not know what these are for and will keep driving even when people are on them.....!!
