Not superfluous. This treaty is a Brino from Hell, allowed onto the table by the EU and UK remainers. It is, in effect, not leaving at all. There is no sure way out of it and it costs a lot of money. So accept that.

I gather that you were on the UK  negotiating team in Brussels. Otherwise it's all conjecture and a lack of credence. Fact is May's deal honoured the referendum vote - which if I can remember, was 'LEAVE' the EU. 

 

So accept that.

As for your closing sentence: perhaps you might take a look at the World Bank’s Gross National Income (GNI) per capita figures. In 2018, in USD, the figure for the UK was 40,530, for Luxembourg 70,260. For GDP the difference is even bigger: 39,720 for the UK, 104,103 for Luxembourg.

As for the Brits suggesting a deal, that is exactly what Johnson doesn't want as it would be a watered down version of May's one if it stood any chance of being passed by parliament.  It is way beyond pitiful to watch him flounder and fail at every turn.

Looks like the EU is a nice little earner for Luxembourg. With the UK being the 2nd highest net contributor to the EU it is no wonder that the comparative GNI/GDP figures are so much in favour of their self entitled burghers.

How many of these 17,4 mln British voters voted for a "No Deal, whatever the consequences "? 

We will see, how many are left when - according to WTO rules - import duty into the EU of UK goods make many products out of competition = closure of production lines = loss of Jobs. When then also British need - just like all others from "third countries"- a Schengen visa, we'll see "the fun" then.

And ALL these EU countries with borders with NON-EU countries, which have a no deal with the EU, treat all crossings of persons, capital and products same as soon Eire has to do, in this case with North-Irish goods, persons and capital. In ffact only Poland with Kaliningrad/Russia + BeloRuss and the Baltic states with Russia. Others are all associate states.
