Shower Heater Wiring Help

Featured Replies

I’ve relocated a panel and need to cut my shower heater back in.

Is there any way to determine which of the existing wires is hot and which is neutral?

They’re both red.

The ground is green.

Thanks...

Do you have a testing screwdriver?  You could then hook one wire to your panel hot and go to shower heater and make sure the hot wire was on the terminal marked for it (they are normally marked in heater).  If not change in main panel to the other wire.  It correct just hook up second wire to panel neutral.

The shower?  Normally a screw at bottom near the water lines and knobs have to come off.

Yeah, got the knob off and one screw, I think it might snap off, but I’m afraid to pull any harder.

I’ll see if I can find the instructions...

Normally just one screw but often two control knobs.  Normally pulls out from bottom where screw was and lifts off.

Thanks, that seemed to do it, although I had to pull it harder than I would have liked.

Nice to take a hot shower again, thanks!
