Greedy old men should hurry up with dying. Unfortunately, there are plenty more to replace them.

The average TVF punter on a daily fried full English washed down with copious alcohol throughout the day and evening as they waddle to their nearest bar living the dream are to doing their bit to rid the world of a carbon guzzler more than most.

Urgh. And I thought after the completely useless generation of millenials the next one seemed ok. Maybe it was just the people that are now in the 18-22y bracket, an anomaly. The army of the brainwashed has been generated again. Every single ¤#¤#"%#¤ generation..

Who do you believe,Trump who denies anything is wrong,no weather changes, warming.

Or a young lady who is passionately looking for a better future for the World and

humanity.

Like she said it's all about money, corporations, the global economy ,make a buck

and <deleted> everyone else.    Floods,Fires, tornado's,cylones, droughts, melting of the ice caps, etc,Mother nature is sending a message

regards worgeordie

It's not a binary choice.

You can believe neither.

I don't think we should pump <deleted> into the air but I also don't believe that ecosystems are dying and that we'll all be dead in a week.

Is there no middle ground?

Global Warming happened and the temp uptick ceased about 12-15 years ago...repeating the natural cycle of eons of eons of eons before. Climate Change is probably happening as it has happened in long long solar cycles since Earth produced an atmosphere. Global Warming and Climate Change cannot be altered by human intervention because these phenomenon are not human caused. Also carbon dioxide is not a toxic gas in its natural occurrence.

In fact the world as we know it wouldn't exist without carbon dioxide.

Most likely Climate Change comes in cycles with Global Cooling and Global Warming due to intertwining of the Sun's cycles of expansion and contraction coupled with sun spots and cyclic production of cosmic rays all in conjunction with wobbles of the Earth's spin on its axis with chance pertubations of Earth's orbit around the Sun and possibly even involves the travels of our solar system through the Milky Way. All involved in enormously complicated cyclic cosmic events.

And of courde, these are all Natural Occurrences that has produced the gigantic events such as the various ice ages - you know - the temp is mild - then cool - then cold - then damn cold - then ice covers half the Earth >>> Then it starts to warm slightly - then a little warmer - then warmer yet still ... ice melts - glaciers retreat and mild temperatures arise for more eons of eons... human habital westher until the next grand cycle.

Natural Occurrences are what's at play... done many times in Earth's long history. But Natural Occurence Deniers "NODs" will not admit it because such truths would go against their political agenda of massive global redistribution of wealth - leveling of living standards around the world to that of just above 3rd World, huge reduction in Earth's human population and most of all impising Global Government ushering in Authoritarian Socialism on a scale and degree never before witnessed.

Agree, that's why Greenland is called Greenland as it was covered in forest when first discovered and then it got cold. Two hundred years ago people were ice skating on the Thames and many other rivers in Europe., then it got hot.

Look at the 25,000 year cycle 'wobble', if you will, of the orbit of the Earth around the sun. Gee a tiny change in energy landing on the planet due to the off axis rotation of the Earth gives 4 seasons in the higher latitudes. It can be counted in hundreds of miles, watts per area received. It doesn't take much in terms of distance for the climate to change dramatically. Some scientists also refer to the cycle of the whole solar system with reference to the galaxy. Basically an up and down  vertical path through the plane of travel of 130 million years in frequency. We may be half way through one now. Divide 130 by 2 and you get 65.....or 65 million years since the last great extinction due to an asteroid strike.

I read that three times.  I didn't understand it.  What are you trying to say?

For many species, the world has already ended. By 2030 it will have ended for a whole lot more species. How many do you want to do without?

Species loss, climate change - it's the same issue: unstoppable human expansion. I don't worry about humans - they are so successful that they have become a blight, as David Attenborough said. To solve this problem, a limit has to be put on human expansion. That's what this is about, though it's taboo to actually say so - even Greta doesn't say so, or perhaps she hasn't understood that yet.

Fact is, there's more to life on earth than human life. That's what you're not getting.

New species are being discovered all the time - a fact conveniently ignored by the true believers.

Life is very adaptable, Something Charlie Darwin understood, but alas, not a lot of posters on this forum.

Do you actually believe what you just typed there?

I mean - that's pretty far from reality. Did you just come up with that yourself or is there a "Greenland was once a tropical paradise" theory I'm not aware of?

Not any more far-fetched than Pattaya being a World Class Family Resort.

Do some research. When the Vikings first arrived in Greenland it was....green i.e trees and stuff, about a thousand years ago.

Trump tried to approach and meet Greta Thunberg at the UN after his speech, holding out his hand to shake hers as he plastered one of his phony smiles on his face. She put her hands behind her back and just glared at him. Trump didn’t even blink, just looked at her and said, “You’re a nasty little girl, aren’t you?” Greta said, “No, but I don’t shake hands with lying, serial-sexual assaulting environment killers, either.”

Or so they say... ????

It would seem so. Greenland was totally forested before the Vikings arrived and cut every single tree down. They were a very short-sighted bunch, living for the thrill of killing and pillaging, a truly advanced breed of homo sapiens...????

The Greenland ice sheet is between 400,000-800,000 years old.

The reason it got the name was, according to legend - that Erik the Red named it that way to lure settlers.

You might want to brush up on your history, fella,,,

I'm in no way suggesting we rush this, lets enjoy it while we can but one way to look at is that its fairly hard to be long term both for humanity and the planet, prolong the planets agony through an extended occupation by humanity through sensible eco-changes or embrace this few hundred year fantastic distinction event and party hard thereby leaving the planet too its own recovery.

In the long run what would be best for the planet?

Best for the planet?  Its been through asteroid strikes, volcanic eruptions, tectonic plates shifts, cosmic rays for millenia, dinosaurs for hundreds of million of years - I doubt humans  and plastic bags will have any long lasting effect on the planet at all.

The planet is fine and will continue to be so long after the latest viral manifestation has come and gone. That's what planets do.
