Seeking favours, Trump asked Ukraine president to investigate Biden

So now we know for a fact that the "trump" Ukraine affair is not a nothing burger. So what is the opposite of nothing burger? I'm really asking.

Also what is or will be the shorthand code name for this impeachment level scandal? You know, like Watergate.

Who do Biden's actions look dirty? He was carrying out US policy? Which agreed with EU policy and most liberal democracies. What's more the prosecutor wasn't even investigating Burisma, the company Hunter Biden worked for. Much less investigating Hunter Biden.

So what right does Biden have to request the sacking of a prosecutor of a foreign country.

And then openly brag about it?

Duck a l'orange

That's too delicious for something this ugly.

Are there not any preliminary code names yet?

Maybe needs to have a Ukrainian connection.

Borschtgate?

Maybe PamPUSHkagate for the garlic rolls served with Ukrainian borscht as it's got the word PUSH in it, as in "trump" PUSHED Zelinsky to help dig up dirt on his political opponent in exchange for desperately needed anti-Russian military aid?

My favorite quote from the Trump/Ukraine dustup:
Adam Schiff said after the hearing with Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire in regards to a Presidential tweet:

"I'm always flattered when I'm attacked by someone of the President's character".

Trump will probably will need several aides to explain it to him.

I loved that too. It was perfect. So unlike that infamous phone call.

The first time I heard this was when I was a little kid, there was a JFK parody album called The First Family (he was still alive, the record was a big hit).  There was a meeting of heads of state and JFK is taking orders for lunch, De Gaulle orders this, which JFK translates to the waiter "a chicken salad sandwich for Mr De Gaulle."

edit: oops, fact check.  De Gaulle said "duck under glass."

Most  comedians  have a  sad  side. If Zelenskily did not have  before  Trump  just  gave  him one !

Trump is like Valdemoort, anyone who comes in contact with him, even those who are sympathetic or sycophantic, come out for the worst.

What could the guy do, say "b_gger off" and hang up the phone?

A certain type of smelly, distasteful sandwich.

Attempting to rid politics of tyranny is never "a waste of time".

By supporting Trump the senate will indict itself.

Agreed. Definitely worth doing. Not doing it in the face of what "trump" has done would be a horrible precedent. He acts like a monarch and indeed a massively CORRUPT one. That's freakin' un-American.

as expats we Amerikeens have no need to pay any attention to this.  a US president not only not protecting US citizens... and no, there is a difference between honoring extradiction and ongoing investigations by police... but a POTUS that is the mostest asking foreign governments, repeatedly, to go after one of his countrymen.  yeah right.  that sounds like a great Amerikee. we just keep getting greater.  at everything!

I am amazed the whistle blower went through the system and not the Press.

Agreed, although suspect there are several dozen "deep throats" (many of whom work, or worked, in the White House) of whom we are currently unaware of.

And the Whistleblower process needs to be reviewed. In this case the head of the CIA had this WB complaint within hours, as did the WH. Not sure that's appropriate? Should be WB --> IC IG --> Congress, especially if the WH and/or DoJ is implicated within the complaint.

The proper question would be what right does the USA have to request the sacking of a prosecutor of a foreign country? Biden was only carrying out administration policy.

  • You are wrong . Biden was bragging in interview ( there is video of that)  that he  told president of Ukraine  to fire prosecutor (who  in his words  was corrupt.)He said to press. of Ukraine that if this prosecutor will be not fired  $1 bln  for Ukraine  will be stopped. Was he carrying out administration policy of. blackmailing  Ukraine? watch this youtube video

I'm confused.

Is the stratgey (today) to:

1.) defend the president's actions, or

2.) attack, deflect and impugn various accusers?

3.) all of the above

The defenses used to date surely indicate confusion, paranoia and a generally high level of bat-guano craziness.

No problem not answering, even Fox is having issues grappling with this mess,

"Coming this week" Chris "Mike Jr." Wallace vs. Tucker "TV Dinner" Carlson in a cage match to the DEATH!!!" Sponsored by Catheters R Us.

Recently appointed Fox board member, Paul Ryan, is advising the Murdochs to plan for a world without the current president, sooner rather than later.

And the Whitehouse is said to be struggling with a coherent message. Such a message requires one to know everything - all the bad stuff - before one can fashion a message which will hold up longer than 24 hours.

Personally I think it would be advisable to defend the president's actions but...

"If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither on your side, pound the table."

Impound the president.
