My friend flies to Manilla on Cebu Pacific airlines.

He has changed his flight date, and has to pay a fee to Cebu (2400 Baht) for this change.

Their sales office in Bkk (Thai Sky NTT tours) first said the fee has to be paid with them cash in the office (they're in Din Daeng), cannot pay by bank transfer.

After some pushing the sales rep said you can pay at the check-in counter but he didn't sound very convinced, especially since he said you have to pay at least 4 hours in advance and I've never heard of check in counters opening 4 hours before take off!!

BTW, my friend is in Pattaya, it's kind of a long trip all the way to Din Daeng and back just to pay the 2400 Baht!!!

Anybody any experience paying at the check-in at the Cebu pacific counter???

You didn't indicate how far ahead the new flight date is, but half a day spent traveling by bus to/from Bkk for a few hundred baht is surely worth the peace of mind knowing the flight status is solid.

Assuming the reservation was made by credit card, would they accept additional payment by the same card?

I flew Cebu Pacific last month, and I recall the check-in counter opening rather early, about 10 pm for the 01:35 departure. I can tell you that the staff were somewhat disorganized, having to go to the same person-in-charge for every passenger at each counter for approval of the e-ticket (a large collection of paper printed on the home computer).

By 10 pm a long line had formed to check in. Could your friend be assured that he would be first in line to make the 4-hr deadline for payment?

Departure time depends on the prompt arrival of the flight from Manila. My flight departed an hour late, at 2:30 am. On the return, we were two hours late getting into Bkk...
