But remember:  "As of September 2019, Gallup polling found that 31% of Americans identified as Democrat, 29% identified as Republican, and 38% as Independent.^" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_party_strength_in_U.S._states

 

So if 90% approval is correct, that's 90% of 29% = c. 26%.
