Panthip Plaza

Featured Replies

I'll be in Bangkok for the first time in May and I've been told that Panthip PLaza is the best place (cheapest) for computer hardware and software. If this is the case are they good gear? will the software work when back in Blighty? I,m also after a GeForce N8800GTS-320MX will it be cheaper than here in the UK?

Thanks for your help.

Pantip is full of touts selling iffy software and pron DVDs, it is not a pleasant place to shop :o

Go there by all means, but also check out Fortune Town outside Pha Ram 9 metro station, there are a couple of better places such as Zeer Rangsit, but they may be too far out for you if you're on a short holiday :D

I was there about ten days ago, a friend from the UK wanted to see it. You can't move 10 feet on the first two floors without being approached by the chant "sexy video sir?" which we were both doing our best to ignore.... it was making my mate laugh, for me it was just tedious.

Neither of us needed anything, but my daughter had expressed the need for some more 'car-toon' while I was in BKK.... when the words "sexy video sir?" had been uttered for the umpteenth time, I replied with "no thanks, just looking for car-toon"

Guess what.

"Have sexy car-toon sir"

*slap forehead*

The simple-mindedness of the touts can be downright comical. :o
