The gloating is equivalent to encouragement. Quite similar to the case of all the people whom once worked for Trump. After they depart (one way or another), he generally starts the grade-school-style name calling and defaming of them. They then turn against him and expose his inadequacies in public. Best sometimes to just let it be. Name calling or gloating only makes him look like a fool and causes retaliation.
