Not a very good picture, but it is the only one I have. Both the wife and me are in the US and sister in law send me this picture saying that this snake was seen in our yard.

What is it please, and should I be doing anything? We are coming back in a few months.

Disregarding what snake it is, I would suppose you do not like it living in your garden. I might be wrong, they do a lot of good too.

However, if you want to get rid of it. The best thing you can do, is tell sister in law to call the guys that go get it and let it out again somewhere else.

It has similarities to king cobra patterning. Kings have a lot of variation in their patterns and darkness so hard to say. A pic of the head would have been helpful.

If you suspect he's a cobra you need to contact the local "snake man" to move it safely.

I love snakes and wildlife, but generally i would prefer King Cobras and Cobras not to be living in my garden, but just outside is fine. Other snakes i can co-exist with, Cobras especially King ones just put the Willies up me.
