Video: "Stubborn" the Khao Yai elephant sits on the roof of a car

A video posted on Facebook showed a wild elephant in the Khao Yai national park in central Thailand straddling the roof of a car. 

 

There were two men in the car who escaped uninjured. 

 

But their roof was dented. 

 

The elephant was named as "Phee Deu" - the stubborn elder one. 

 

Daily News reporting the incident said that tourists had been warned to stay away from wild elephants.

How do you stay away from wild elephants when driving on a road, perhaps the car wasn't meant to be there.

Just hope they didn't lower the side windows.

If he did, they could have drowned.

It was a sad day for the village when "Ollie the elephant" was relocated somewhere south of here.

 

I guess I am kinda on the elephants side even though "Ollie" pinched a whole bag of donuts from me..

 

I love the wild elephants..

Yes, that perfect road is only there for ox carts. Bloody motorist.

A good reason for avoiding trunk roads.

Perhaps the elephant has poor eyesight and mistook it for a mating opportunity.  ???? 

 

It's quite the video, but I'd love to see how they ended up like that. I suppose the road was blocked by the huge beast and it just got cozy with the car before the driver realized he or she was going to be trapped there until the elephant lost that lovin' feelin' and moved on.  

  

He just needed to rub himself , no trees nearby so a car will do.

It is a UNESCO park, it is really amazing, except for the road cutting it in half and quarters. the road is a shortcut .

Thai people apply for unesco heritage and use funding to make road very nice. they drive really fast , and give as many <deleted>s ( classifier for number of poos) about the animals as they do for people

a buddhist country yet humans are highest and some are higher than others.

is there a way to make a UN crime for abuse of this heritage park

certain unnamable elephant is responsible

Love the whispering telling elephant to get off. No wonder took him so long , he could not hear them calling out

 The window was closed as the car wash guy asked them why did they park under a tree with so many birds in it ????
