Prayut praises China for keeping region stable, prosperous

Asean Summit

 

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha praised China’s contribution to regional stability and prosperity while meeting with Li Keqiang, his Chinese counterpart, at the Asean Summit in Bangkok on Sunday (November 3).

 

Government spokeswoman Narumon Pinyosinwat said the two premiers and other Asean leaders had a separate sit-down on the summit’s side lines.

 

Prayut said Asean’s relations with Beijing over the past 10 years had been among the most dynamic, she quoted him as saying.

 

Asean and China have committed to increasing trade and investment, targeting trade volume of US$150 billion next year.

the level of respect given, I know plenty of bank managers who are called 

descriptive names after the pressure mounts to repay those monies plus interest they have attached.

S Korea? That's a new one. You're talking two different seas with Japan and the Philippines and Duterte has reached agreement with China to an extent.

Prime Minister Khun Prayut Chan O Cha hosted many high level dignitaries over the past few days in which bilateral trade, investment and infrastructure were discussed.

Good for the Prime Minister and Great for Thailand.

Pocket p!ssing or forelock tugging is an art form in Thailand and comes in different styles depending on the  occasion. On the local scene politicians normally do it for both mutual and self gratification and to invite reciprocation of similar goodwill from others. 

There is a different variation used for diplomatic meetings when it is done more for the intent of exploring fresh avenues to grow personal wealth.

But with major countries like China it is done purposely to guarantee the continued flow of envelopes into the pockets of those politicians at the top who make the big decisions and whose credentials have already been tested and proven.
