Weaker high pressure over upper Thailand will lead to morning fog, rising temperatures and a chance of thunder showers in the North, the Northeast, the Central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the East, the Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Monday (November 4).

In the North and the Northeast, the mornings will remain cool and people are advised to stay warm. The department also warned of a monsoon trough lying across the Andaman Sea and the middle South along with an active low-pressure cell over the middle South China Sea, bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms to the South. All ships should proceed with caution and keep away from storms.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:

Northern region: Cool weather and fog in the morning with thunder showers in 30 per cent of the area, temperature lows of 20-23 degrees and highs of 33-35 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 10-14 degrees on hilltops.

Northeastern region: Cool weather and fog in the morning with thunder showers in 20 per cent of the area, temperatures lows 22-24 degrees and highs of 32-34 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 11-14 degrees on hilltops.

Central region: Warmer weather with fog in the morning and thunder showers in 40 per cent of the area; lows 22-23 degrees, highs 34-35 degrees Celsius.

Eastern region: Warmer weather with fog in the morning and thunder showers in 60 per cent of the area; lows 23-24 degrees, highs 32-35 degree Celsius; wave height 1-2 metres.
