For those of you who have arrived BKK (Suvarnabhumi) on an international flight and have parked at a remote stand can you describe any details re: actual point where you are dropped off at the terminal (does it have a gate number? at which concourse does the bus drop you off? which level?) and how far was the walk to Immigration? I realize that there may be several remote gates to accomodate the remote stands scattered around the airport. I think I'll have an arrival at a remote stand in the 40n area, near the E/F concourses (west apron) and was wondering what the bus arrival will be like. I've had ~ 12 or so arrivals but have always gotten a fixed gate.

Thanks.

Only had a remote gate once. Bus dropped us at an entrance that said 'Arrivals' no gate number or anything, up a couple of escalators and a short walk to immigration. Even the baggage carousel was only a short stroll.

I ended up getting a fixed gate, again, so am 13 for 13 on fixed gates at Suvarnabhumi arrivals. Amazing experience last night; arrived gate D6 which is nearly opposite one bank of Immigration desks at 23:15. Usually the lines are pretty deep at this time but there was not a single person (I was one of the first ones off the plane) waiting in line at the 20+ staffed desks. Stepping off the plane to Ploen Chit (Wireless Rd.) in 30 minutes, including a duty-free purchase (no checked bags, and a taxi from level 4)! I realize I am in the minority here but with 12 departures and 13 arrivals (mix of domestic and internaitonal) at Suvarnabhumi I continue to be impressed with the new airport.

I am with you ... Love the new Airport ... on my International flights in I have never had to shuttle in. I have had to fairly often on domestic flights ... but that works for me, since they unload my dog and give her to me while still at the plane.

Saves her the additional stress of being manhandled by the baggae staff and the baggage conveyance system!!
