It is used for depression and anxiety but isn't licensed / available in Thailand.

Is it safe to bring it in or will they consider it a controlled substance and lock me up.

I use it more as a supplement, I don't particularly need to take it and actually I'm not taking it at the moment at all.  But I would like to bring some with me if it's risk free.

It is not a banned substance nor a controlled narcotic. You can legally bring in up to a 30 day supply if you have a prescription.

30 days is the rule but it is not strictly enforced and as long as the quantity looks consistent with personal use for your trip they usually let it go.

Only thing is I don't have a prescription for it.  NHS refused so I ended up ordering from an online pharmacy.   What's the worst that can happen then?  If I cant show a prescription, they'll just take it off me?

The worst woukd be if they suspected it of being something other than what it is. So make sure it is in clearly labelled bottles or packets .

The real question you should answer: Do I really want to go to Thailand anxious and depressed already?   I think you know the answer...????

But the poster won't be anxious and depressed if s/he is on the medication. So why ask the question?

There are many types of antidepressants but that doesn't mean they all do the same thing, or have the same effect.  Moclobemide is the only one I find effective.  I wouldn't touch an SSRI or an irreversible MAOI for example.
