Yes..it's kinda puzzling-about 18 degrees Celsius if I remember correctly-but that sent some of the ladies rushing for their coats.. I guess if you spend most of your life in 40+ degree heat 18C would be a trifle rigorous ????

Popular Post owl sees all
Owl Log - 29-11-2020 - Sunday morning Back off holiday. Thanks to everyone who posted during my sabbatical. Picked up my visa from Udon and two days later renewed my driving licence in Phen. Got a medical certificate just in case, but they didn't want it. Only time had to do any sort of test in 12 years here. There is one part of the test where two white sticks are moving. I just couldn't understand what I had to do. Press the red button; or the green. The chap got fed up with me and waved me through. Watched the films. I noticed that others watching were on their smart phones a lot of the time. They passed just the same. 505 baht for another 6 years. While in Phen I found a new number one for wires. On the way back from the licensing station I detoured to see buddha bunny and the red statues. Bunny is in need of repair. A little family problem took away my parking space. I don't mind. If it helps the family!!?? The pears are almost gone. Everyone who passes takes a few. Trees! That giant tree in Udon is not getting any shorter. Rice harvesting is coming to an end. Some farms have just husband and wife; or sisters. Others have big teams. Started our cutting yesterday (Saturday). By the end of the day about 30% was left. Will be finished today. Mildred took the pics as I was in my sick-bed. The red buddhas are in need of a touch-up. Unless - of course - that is the finished job. Although there is plenty of paint. It's all work in progress. Very nice buddha place. I'll be visiting often. What colours! Lots of gold-leafing to be done yet. I'll keep an eye on developments. Is he asleep, or just chillin'? Mrs Owl experienced big trauma on her way to Ban Dung on Monday. A blow-out. Must have been scary for her. She got it sorted OK. Our regular garage towed her in and put on the spare. 200 baht. And would you believe? A few days later the other back tyre blew out while I was driving back from Phen. Don't know why? A coincidence? Never had a blow-out in a million km of driving. Then we get two in a week. Drove a little way to the next garage. They put on a new tyre for 800 baht. A bit smaller than before; but that's all they had. I'm gonna put on a new back pair next week. **************************** Found a huge solar farm in bannork's area. 80,000 m2. That's the biggest one I know of in these parts. The previous biggest was 55,000 m2; just off H2. And that is being demolished! Why? I'll try to find out, and report. Pics next Owl Log. Mildred is going back to school next week. Maybe I'm being selfish, but I don't want her to go back. Been a bit under the weather since Friday. Banged my head hard on Friday morning and then had to put up with yak-yak from Mrs Owl over some irrelevant nonsense. Retired to bed and just got up this morning at 8. Called into DoHome for some coloured sheets. We (Mildred and I) are going to take all the stuff that is stuck on to the walls off, and put up these boards with different things on; artwork and educational things. It's good to be back. Bye y'all. Edited November 29, 2020 by owl sees all 10

faraday
Owl, if you banged your head hard & you're feeling under the weather, then go & have an X-ray. Please. Love the big tree in Udon, what sort is it? Of course you're not selfish not wanting Mildred to go back to school. It's lovely having them at home. Hope the weather was good for your holiday; you went to Ireland to see that nice Dr Dolores didn't you?
