A friend who is bed bound wants to have his car converted so that it can carry a wheelchair and a small hoist for his carers to use when he is getting in and out of the vehicle. The car is an 8yo Vios.

Looking for any ideas or solutions. Google is showing many devices, but only overseas. The roof mounted ones look good, but will need to have an electric loading/unloading system as his wife is very weak. Another thought is roof for the wheelchair and a toe ball rack for the hoist.

Anyone seen this type of equipment in Thailand?

briofoz first there is no need to convert the car, wheelchair will fold and fit in the boot.

Unless of course if he has an electric chair, that would need the car converted.

I have an electric winch to lift me into the pickup, but when we go anywhere i cannot get out unless there are 2 people to lift me.

Also he could buy a lifting sheet and sit on it, then people or winch lift him, i sit on a lifting sheet in my wheelchair so it is easy to lift me.

If you require any further assistance PM me, i will offer as much help as i can.
