Bank Savings Interest Rates 2023
I understand many are in a similar situation to yourself, and I have no problem with it. Some seem to think their extension only costs them 1900 baht, as opposed to those using an agent who may pay 15000 baht, however, in order to pay the 1900 baht, one must accept a considerable loss on the poor interest offered by Thai banks, thus, the extension costing them way more than 1900 baht, yet, many refuse to accept the math. As the saying goes, you can tell them, but you can't understand it for them. -

K bank E-mail with Tax Forms attached ?
As an update to this. I filled out the Thai form and went to the bank today to hand it in as I had to go there for something else anyway. I handed it over and she said "you take a picture and send in your email". "You have it in your email"? Clearly not wanting to accept it. Despite explaining that the bank told me I can hand it into the branch. As I sat down to do this I noticed an older man next to me was trying to do exactly the same thing with the same form and getting the same answer. Except that he was explaining he can't do it because his house was flooded and computer damaged etc. I calmly ignored my tellers smug refusal and proceeded to do what I was really there for. Getting a statement for the DTV visa. After this was done the teller mentioned that she had updated the other tax form for me and I no longer need to do it. Except she made me sign the signature page again in front of her for some reason. I don't know what changed her mind tbh. As I was walking out the older man that was next to me was at a nearby bench fumbling with the stupid form trying to take pictures and send it and stuff because his teller evdently did not let him give it to her. So in typical Thai fashion no consistency or standards in the service they give and no F's given. I felt like mentioning to him on my way out that they just did it for me but I knew it wouldn't have helped anything anyway. -

Very correct. I don't consider Trump particularly smart, but he is brilliant as a promoter. And he saw how many millions were sick and tired of being told what to do and say, and being told the economy is fine, which it is not, for most people. Harris was pathetic. Trump tapped into popular angst, and the Dems were blind. They still are. I doubt they will learn much from this. -

A new way to turn right at the intersection, Thai style?
I have to admit that when I arrived here for my retirement about 18 months ago I did find some Thai driving annoying (the undertaking, the poor signalling, the pulling in front of you only to slow down and turn off the road, etc.). However, I am in their country; they are not in mine (UK). Thai drivers receive little (if any) training, don't have to pass a test to the same level of proficiency as most of us are familiar with, and there is little in the way of traffic law enforcement. I have adjusted. I drive more defensively and, usefully, the average speed is much slower than we are probably familiar with back home so that's one bonus from a safety and economy point-of-view. -
