Leaving Thailand for a few days on a Non 0-A

Recommended Posts

Entered Thailand on a non 0-A in August.  Issued in USA in late July.

I have a chance to go to Lao with some friends in a few days.

I don't want to screw up the Non O-A visa, do I need to get a re-entry permit?

Did a 90 day a few weeks ago.

My concern is triggering the second year of stay

Insurance is only required when buying the visa or extending a stay.

Apparently that isn't happening now. It was being done erroneously.

Sure?

Important Updates

Suvarnabhumi is now stamping people for 30 days.

They really like to take the p#ss, one day one way, another day another way.....????

I replied to the post about that in the topic where it was posted. My question was did the person notice the 30 day stamp before leaving the airport. I suspect it would of been correct it they did. Probably a officer not knowing what the rules are.

No much info about it in that 2nd or 3rd hand report on facebook.

@ubonjoe, I am OK?    This is kind of a last minute deal.     I trust your experience.  ????

I see no reason for you to have a problem.

I have seen no reports about anybody having a problem at any border crossing.

Do you know the difference between the ME permit and re-entry permit?

Yes I do, do you? He is within the first 12 months of a Non OA visa, he automatically gets stamped in for 12 months during the first year. He only needs a re entry permit if he leaves just before the expiry date and gets a further 12 months. The re entry permit keeps this date alive.

Can you guarantee that OP will be allowed back in with a new OA entry without having insurance? No? Then why bother posting

Yes, why would he need a re entry permit during the first 12 months of a Non OA visa? Its got nothing to do with insurance on OA issued before 31st Oct. In any case a re entry is not needed. You again have just proved your ignorance I am afraid.

I recommend you to read post #7 in this thread, and then you may say sorry for your ignorance.

I think the wording should be "may need a reentry permit".  I just returned on a 1st year O-A with only the O-A's ME and had no issue getting the full year stamp at DMK.  So it is obviously hit and miss.

Also, the other important word for several of the recent posters here is "CIVILITY"
