Tit-for-tat between Ms. Pareena and Seripisut turns absurd

The House Committee on Corruption Affairs, chaired by Pol Gen Seripisut Temiyavet, is looking increasingly like a circus, with the constant tit-for-tat squabbling between him and committee member, Ms. Pareena Kraikupt, which appears to have taken on an air of infantile absurdity.

When the House committee meeting resumed this morning, Ms. Pareena, Palang Pracharat MP for Ratchaburi province, raised her hand to protest against Pol Maj-Gen Virote Pao-in, Pheu Thai senior party member and an advisor to the chairman, taking the seat next to the chair, a place normally reserved the committee’s deputy chairman.

Opposing members on the committee then argued with each other until a parliamentary official was summoned to explain the rules on House committee seating.  The answer was that there are no written rules, prompting Seripisut to announce that members may occupy any seat they wish.

Having to declare corruption income could be a game changer for Thailand.

At first, certainly.
Look what's happening in France;
the money generated by the illicit traffic of various drugs is included in the Gross National Product in order to make believe that France has not been in recession for many years.

Question Republique bananiere France seems to me very much above Thailand, which still plays in the kindergarten.

Dear Lord above us. This group of people are supposed to be representing the Thai public? I’ll never understand the concept of face here. This is beyond juvenile.

Maybe the land thief should keep a low profile. She’s clearly an abhorrent creature whose most charming feature of late has been the ability to keep quiet and run from questions. Horrible woman.

And this is different to politics in western countries, how? My own certainly has nothing to endear it to it's people.

Let's stick to the story at hand and not use whataboutism to deflect or make an issue seem less comment worthy.

It is not forbidden to go fishing for examples elsewhere?
France as far as I am concerned and I could have also taken Italy as an example and Australia as regards our friend
Otherwise we will go round in circles in the thai marsh plague .:jap:

With all due respect Sir, on what do you biase base your comment "And, FFP is no different"?

FFP has not been given a chance to demonstrate "difference" one way or the other.

Based on 30 years of studying Thais, being married into an elite (yes, elite) Thai family, being exposed to many things even most Thais are not (let alone most expats), and, most importantly, I base it on common sense.

I do not give Thais the benefit of any doubt.

I don't have time to let everyone have a chance to see if they are not corrupt.

Maybe the point being made was that corruption is a worldwide thing, not just a Thai-ism.

Pigs in the trough, rich guys being heads of state, Big business "donating" to political parties for favours.

What about pollies giving themselves pay-rises at the last sitting of parliament? (when they think no one is watching)

It goes on and on in the west...

Company directors giving themselves bonuses when performance was terrible.

Prime ministers who were once legal council for mafia figures.

Not to mention the scammers that caused a worlwide debt crisis and the crooks behind it being let off and bailed out.

You cant really call out one country on greed..its everywhere and its human nature.
