Expensive Lawyers

Featured Replies

Maybe better off in this section.

Searched forum but cannot find up to date information.

I would like an estimate of reasonable expected costs of Legal representation for proceedings leading to Divorce and full Child Custody in Bangkok.

Both may be uncontested.

Quotes so far very expensive.

Any experience, ideas or experience please?

My wifes friend is a lawyer,we go to their house , i can see how expensive they are just by seeing it,,thank goodness if ever we need a lawyer she is a friend .????

expensive is a relative term - expensive in comparison to?

Of course, there is always the line of though "you get what you pay for"

The only advice I can only offer is to "shop around". Get quotation(s) from a few "licensed" attorneys.

The biggest part of the quotation problem is this "both may be uncontested". Can be perceived as both may be contested in a most ugly, hate filled, let's go for blood court battle.

Legal representation is almost always considered "expensive".

Good luck and may everything work out easily for all involved. It is all about what is best for the child/children.

Additional info - I have used a licensed Thai Attorney for property rentals, sales and purchases, immigration, Last Wills and Testaments, etc. Depending on the specific item I have been quoted and charged between THB 20k and THB 60k - in all my cases "none" involved a court appearance.
