BMW Hits Car Then Flees Scene

A speeding BMW car hit a Vios car that was just parking beside the road. At first the BMW driver tried to flee but didn’t make it. He was stopped one Soi further on.

At 11.40 pm on 29th March the Pattaya police were informed that a white BMW hit a Vios car in Soi Jeeraphol, 3rd Road. The BMW driver fled so the police radioed out to all near the scene to detect the car.

The force of being hit pushed the Vios up on the footpath. Miss Anusara the owner was waiting for the police. She stated that she parked the car to the side and went up to see a friend in a nearby apartment. Not long after someone rushed up to tell her that her car had been hit so she came down to look and informed the police.

While the police were questioning this woman; they were informed through radio that the BMW had already been found parking in one Soi further away.

The driver; Prasit Inta, aged 31 was arrested. He confessed that he was driving at high speed because he was in a hurry. He saw the Vios parking and thought that he could pass it but miscalculated and hit the car. He didn’t want to get into trouble so fled but since his front tires were damaged, he didn’t make it very far.

The police let both parties negotiate first and if they can’t then the police will settle it for them.

Fleeing the scene of an accident, dangerous driving, too much paperwork, let both parties negociate. :o Only in Thailand.

What a joke , seems the normal thing here is to do a runner if you have an accident.

The guy should be locked up.

I know it's accepted practice for Thai's to do a runner but what would happen if a farrang upped and legged it?

same same or different ? :o
