Just more fake news...... Leave cancelled, there should be no leave granted at such a busy time.

Not as if this has not happened every year before, so making a BIG statement ... Leave cancelled is BS.

No not wrong col....cancel all leave and put them on duty in arrivals...makes the place look busy then....they aren,t daft here tha knows...........:clap2:

He promised packed booths and leave would be cancelled for immigration officers at the airports that were the "Gateways to Thailand".

Most airports revolve around services/outlets working a multi-shift system which means leave as such is not necessary, people work when they're required to cover a shift. Pay is adjusted to compensate working on a national holiday or leave is granted in lieu later in the quieter moments.

Oh another message regrading arrivals, gee they cannot have one consistent narrative on this subject.

Does each officer have their own communications "expert" to issue a message different from their colleagues?

These people make themselves look like prats of the first order

However, Thaivisa notes that the media made no attempt to estimate if more flights actually meant more tourists.

It hits the nail on the head, many flights are transiting to other countries.

International flights don't transit. The flight arrive, passengers disembark and board a flight with new #.

Finnair used to have flight Helsinki-Bkk-Sing'. Short stop BKK where 90% of pax ended their journey and the 10% went on to Sing' on the same plane.

I used it a lot as they sold cheap returns BKK/Sing' just to get bums on seats.

Now the system seems to be affiliated airlines for last short hops.

Increase in passenger arrival numbers ? Ok Maybe....but at the end of the day, is there an increase of ca$H in the registers and the pockets of the local merchants ? One could highly doubt it with the ripOff prices in the malls, the soapys, the clubs in Thailand.....prices that are sometimes similar, if not more, then in Europe !!!!!!...yesSir.....
