Looking for cheap flights from london to phuket. Anyone got any ideas. Many sites i have looked at appear to be more exspensive for flight then a package holiday. Also looking for cheap accomodation in patong beach if anyone has suggestions. All ideas greatly appreciated.

Last year when I went to Phuket it was cheaper to fly to Bangkok and buy an internal ticket to Phuket at the airport. I was quoted £1500 for the whole route in the UK. Ended up paying £550.

I got some flights for Khun Wifey, Me and our son,

Return from London Hthrw for GBP 1200 ! not bad for two adults and a 5 yr old, also this is in peak holiday time ie begining of Aug when the UK schools break up and flights aren't cheap !

However there is a down side -- It's with Royal Jordanian via Amman with a two hour stopover plane change etc etc i am a bit concerned over security, But i have been told everything is well undercontrol and i am well covered with insurance !!..

I have stayed in Phuket at the Sawsdee Apartments i remember them being affordable/Air Con/TV & Clean just off Patong..Sorry can't remember how much though....

Forgot to mention in my last post those flights are to BKK only...As per ThaiAdventure cheaper to get some flights to Phuket once in Bangkok.

UK to Phuket was served up to a couple of years ago by a lot of Charter Companies (min 2 people/family) but??? Also I think Lauder still goes direct but ..peng.Anyway this outfit links up with 20-30 other consolidators,agents and wots-its.

Try    www.airlinenetwork.co.uk     I use them 3/4 times a year going out in 3 weeks cost:  £373.00 plus tax.

Buy a ticket at Bangkok Airport with Thai Airways at the Domestic Departure Lounge believe they have about 6 flights a day.

Once in Phuket steer clear of the touts at the airport selling you a mini-bus to Patong it takes about 2 hours(dropping all the other passengers off) just walk outside the terminal and get a taxi 500 baht and 20 mins.

Also try to fly with one of the Star Allience Airlines they have about 12 supporting Airline Companies  and save those airmiles because every 5 times you go to LOS and back from you have enough air miles for a "freebie".
