Mike Lister Posted March 8, 2024 Posted March 8, 2024 If you Google Chiang Mai pollution 2007 you'll see cmu papers on this subject that talk about how severe the problem was at the time. I'm away from my house at present so am unable to link them. 1 1

Thailand Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 Quite a few places over 200 today. Chiang Mai fighting to get to that number one spot again! A little more uncontrolled and un- monitored burning and we can do it again!
mania Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 Quite a few Thai folks from Chiang Mai posting bloody tissues on Social Media. Claiming their noses are bleeding due to this pollution.
Mike Lister Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Mae rim this morning, over 300, burning is often a Friday night sport for many.
Tarteso Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Paradise or Hell ? What a shame of Country. !! 1 1
HermesHermes Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Isn't this slash and burn an offence against some law in Thailand? Enforce the law! At gunpoint if necessary. But the problem could be the futility of it not being an international endeavor. I recall when doing video work at the US southern border. US laws were useless if Mexico continued its industrial pollution.

Because the air in Bangkok has been significantly worse than the air in Chiang Mai for the last four days.

HermesHermes Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 Phnom Penh and Battambang. More recently Kanchanaburi (in Thailand). Weird, although I did not notice any air pollution, KB rated poorly recently too. Malaysia and southern Thailand have much cleaner area. So, it's not like you have to go to Borneo or New Zealand for fresh air.
