Total Thai export in December is expected to post a lower contraction rate than November, which stood at minus 7.7 per cent from the previous month (October), said Pornpen Sodsrichai, Bank of Thailand's Director, Economic Analysis Office, on Monday (December 30).

Value of Thai export has declined 3.4 per cent year on year over the past 11 months.

The central bank expected the Thai economy to grow 2.5 per cent this year.

Next year, it estimated an economic expansion of 2.8 per cent, based on an assumption that export will grow 0.5 per cent in line with an expected improvement of the global economy.

Actually I can believe this. Most factories that are shutting down in Thailand now will be trying to offload as much stock as possible
