Hes not done much wrong, just his political opponents trying to use the law to out him , thats happened to Boris and Donald as well

And he has much to fear from the Israeli courts which are notoriously anti-Semitic.

More likely he has changed jobs and is in a different Israeli government position now.

If you think Morch's posts were paid Israeli government propaganda you clearly didn't read his posts.

Indeed his very high knowledge level posts on middle eastern politics are sorely missed.

He regularly challenged partisans from different sides with equal vigor and credibility.

I don't think it is a good idea to enter a discussion about the views and posts of another member.

Now I'm confused. Did you accuse him of being paid to post here by the Israeli government or didn't you?

No they are not. The charges equate to millions of dollars worth of media based political coverage in favour of Netanyahu plus advantages for the media owners and approx $550k in physical gifts   As with his friend trump he appears to consider himself not subject to the Rule of Law, together with the belief repeated lies and misinformation will overwhelm 'truth'.

As a reminder actual charges below...

Nothing really substantial there .

Were the cigars and Champagne given to Net a present or a bribe ?

Is the question

Eh, I didnt mention anything about any Religion (or anti-antisemitism) and Religion/antisemitism has nothing to do with this .

This is about Politics , I can see no reason why you bought Religion into it

Well, you seem to think that the Israeli system of justice is unfair. So I was just guessing that those were the grounds.

Its OK to accept gifts from friends and business partners

Really, when you hold public office and have it in your power to grant them favors? Is that what Israeli law says?  And, apparently, Netanyahu did indulge in quid pro quos.

No, I do not think that the Israeli system of justice is unfair and thus your guess is , well, it means nothing .

What I meant was that Nets political opponents are using this to oust him from power, as are Boris and Trumps political opponents .

If these three guys were not heads of government , would the people legally perusing them, still be legally perusing them ?

Or is the main reason to oust them from power , and they are trying every legal angle to achieve their aims

Currently just allegations at the moment , not be proven yet

And that's why there's going to be a trial. Unless Netanyahu manages to put himself above the law.

I think that all serving heads of state should be immune from prosecution until their term in power has come to an end

That's not an invitation to lawlessness. By no means. No way. No how.
