Here's another ....

Mother nature and Man

Mother nature is awesome

she keeps things in line

the delicate chain

has always been fine

Things went well

for millions of years

then along came man

and mother nature's tears

for man was a learner

knowledge he craved

the more he got

the worse he behaved

he lusted her treasures

minerals and gold

now he rapes her

man is that bold

The time is approaching

when resources will dry

Mother will be angry

man will soon cry

For mother is power

heartless too

if you mess up the balance

she will remove you

the problem you see

is rather compounding

all of our knowledge

is really astounding

what would take

a month or a week

is now finished

before we can speak

raising forests

sucking up the ore

bleeding the oil

down to the core

mother is clever

but we are too fast

she can never repair

what we did in the past

so then comes my question,

what can we do?

Not a great deal

neither me nor you!

One for the negative thinkers ....

The glass

Life is hell,

I hear you think ….

your mind is clearly

on the brink

of a meltdown it seems,

weighed down with woe

and here's the thing

it need not be so!

Your perspective is wrong,

shift it a bit

then you can see

above all the <deleted>

Life can be good,

if you see it that way

or it can be bad,

whatever you say

The way that we see,

the position we hold,

dictates our view

and dare I be bold?

If one sees only good,

that might sound absurd,

the craziest thing

that's ever been heard

then good must come back

surely it must.

Sceptical?

Give it some trust

and then you will see

how life can be nice

stop mulling over

the terrible price

that you think must be paid

for happiness won

The fact is, it's easy

as good as done!

if we train our minds,

to seek out the plus

it will always find,

the good thing for us

The moment is all

of that I am sure

pass it nicely

and you have a cure

For half glass empty

isn't the thing

that we want our thoughts

to randomly bring

I do not exist

my mind isn't real

so how can I think

How can I feel?

A question to ponder,

something to chew

If I am not me,

then you are not you!

Is there an answer?

What can be said?

It's easy my friend,

it's all in the head!!

The New World Order ....

Governments

They are duly elected

By the people of the nation

They promise everything

Except inflation

Vote for me

And your troubles will be forgotten

The outside looks so nice

But the core is rotten!

A politician’s lot

Is a cushy one

Running up expenses

Till all the funds are done

I have a manifesto

I’d like you all to see

It’s really quite simple

Everything is free!

But could it be that easy

To make everyone so happy

Put your cross in my box

There’s a good chappie!

They promise you the earth

When elections come around

But when there’s a problem

They’re nowhere to be found!

Capitalism rules

So they’d have you believe

It’d probably work

If they didn’t all thieve

The Tories or Labour

It really doesn’t matter

The poor get poorer

And the rich get fatter

It’s all about control

Take away the border

We’re moving towards

A New World Order

Terrorists terrorise

Hoping to go to heaven

It’s strange I think

They weren’t at Nine eleven

Bad guys with cutters

Or so we’re told

Caused the twin towers

To literally fold!

I find it amazing

That most believe it’s true

The lies that were told

By George W

The US sheep are proud

They are defenders of the free

The leaders of these folks

Should be hung from a tree!

The <deleted> that we’re fed

By their propagandist geeks

Was nicely revealed

By good old Wikileaks

So if you want the truth

About what’s going down

Open your eyes

The next time you’re in town

The cops are not about

And what does that prove?

It shows that the cameras

Have got your every move!

Face recognition

And retina scans

Are all just a part

Of their evil little plans!

They’re killing us slowly

And if you wonder why

Look up for a moment

At the chemtrails in the sky

Why would they do that?

I hear you mention

Well one reason is

They want your old age pension

If you die early

After years of paying in

The fat cats are happy

Cos it’s win win win!

How can we stop it?

Is it too late?

For the answer to that one

You’ll just have to wait

We all have to deal with getting old ....

Getting old

A serious thing,

in a serious way

your body is in

a state of decay

You cannot escape

the ultimate end

as something breaks down

that you cannot mend

Eyes become glassy,

things are a blur

it might be a him,

or it could be a her

Our hearing will lessen,

we struggle to cope

Careful in the bathroom,

don't slip on the soap

For what was once grand,

a body so lean

is now attached

to a breathing machine

But when we look back

our life seems so short

time passes us by

quicker than it ought

let's not ponder on the past

or what lays ahead

let's enjoy the moment

a wise man once said

so grow old with grace

and laugh like a clown

happiness bounds

you'll never be down

our faculties waver

our spine starts to shrink

at least we are able

to have a good drink

And another ....

The creature that learns

Life started here

from sunlight and sea

it slowly evolved

into what we can see

evolution took hold

and species flourished

as nature provided

all that they nourished

Science has told us

that we are all linked

some have survived

while others extinct

The creatures changed

in time with their world

all was quite hectic

as new life unfurled

Then came the ape

our ancestral friend

from these primates

did humans descend

Our brain was ready

we searched and we learned

we began our quest

leaving no stone unturned

Then we discovered

the Earth wasn't square

Then came machines

enter despair

for what had always been

a harmonious place

was now being pillaged

by the human race

Then came space

and then pretty soon

Neil and his buddies

stood on the moon

Now we are looking

further afield

Quantum physics

a magnetic shield

We can now search the universe

with infra red beams

We've already learned

it's not what it seems

The universe is expanding

of this we are sure

bigger and bigger

much becomes more

Next it will be

a great permeator

when science proves

there is no creator

Alien life

is out there we know

it won't be too long

then we'll have a show

And then comes the time

ourselves, we outlearn

we punished the planet

now it's her turn

to redress the balance

to cut out the part

the creature that learns

who isn't so smart

POTY memories

Well !, who would have thunk it .

Old G is a bard !

Not as we thought

A huge sack of lard !

His poems are amazing

Make us smile ear to ear
Accompanied by coffee

Or wine or cold beer !

POTY voters were doubtful

His words took a hike

Breasts and moviestars

Were all they would like !

Even his steed
Likes the words of old G
As he stands on the hillside

Tied to his tree

Now POTY is over

What will keep G busy

A new thread of poems

To send us all dizzy

Some poems are beautiful

Yet they drive us insane

Maybe one more

Entitled “ lovely Jane “

To be continued !!

This one's for Ivor Bigun ......

The meaning of life

The question has been asked

Since time began

Why are we here?

Are we part of a plan?

God and religion

We’re forced to believe

But for me personally

It’s impossible to conceive

That out there in the emptiness

Is a Deity keeping score

On all our simple actions

Rich or poor

Christians and Hindus

Muslims and Jews

So many different options

How do we choose?

Well Mum and Dad both tell us

That their way is right

God will save your soul

Regardless of your plight

A veil on your face

A turban on your head

If you don’t believe what I do

You’ll all end up dead!

The Bible and The Koran

Tell us to be kind

Don’t steal from your neighbor

And watch your behind!

Those who think they know

Will try to change your mind

Pray to MY God

While you still have time

Fear is the sales pitch

And we all know so well

That if you are a bad one

You’ll burn in hell!

Ghosts and demons

Things that suck your blood

Movement in the shadows

An echo with a thud

Seeing is believing

Or so they say

As far as I’m concerned

There is no other way

So the eternal question

Is thrown at you

And the answer my friend

Is forty two!

Here’s one for..............

She was so lovely

A sight to behold

A warmth in the darkness

On nights oh so cold

Her face in my memory

Over many of years

Left me with sadness

Sometimes with tears

I loved her in silence

Afraid even to speak

My feelings, my emotions

She made me feel weak

My passion was strong

Oh let me be bold

Tell her of my feelings

At age 10 years old

Time has now passed us

A long time indeed

Now would be foolish

To tell her of my need

Back then i was handsome

Young , healthy and bold

But now i am tired
And certainly too old

Maybe she kept

Her features so fair

Her skin so soft

And her long silky hair

But maybe like me

As always life’s plan

Her looks have diminished

Now she is a gran

Maybe she’s gone

To the heavens above

Gone never knowing

The strength of my love

Although it is over

My feelings remain

You gave me some hope

My darling sweet Jane

One for the pacifists (myself included) .....

War

It’s been around

Since time began

Tribe against tribe

Clan versus clan

There seems to be

An inherent need

To steal and covet

Another one’s feed

Weapons of war

Have changed with means

From sticks and stones

To M -16’s

Rockets and missiles

Guided with care

Oh woe is you

If you’re in the crosshair

War is so final

So brutal and loud

The victors stand tall

Valiant and proud

Medals for valour

Pinned to their chest

It adds to the weight

Of the bullet proof vest

War can be local

A skirmish, A probe

Or a massive encounter

That covers the globe

A soldier’s lot

Is fraught with danger

Bullets whizz by

While you kill a stranger

The enemy is one

That must die at all cost

It doesn’t matter

How many lives are lost

For we are all expendable

For the overall cause

Oh when will we learn

To stop all the wars

A captain shouts “Over”

Above the stench

As hundreds emerge

From the front line trench

The brave lads advance

With bayonets fixed

And fight with the enemy

Their blood intermixed

Could it be possible?

That we stop all this madness

And replace with joy

The inherent sadness

Of brave young men

Cut down in their prime

With so much to live for

Gone before their time

We’ve made some progress

With diplomatic relations

The world’s police

The United Nations

Will intervene

And stop the slaughter

And maybe they’ll save

A son or a daughter

Politicians are involved

I’m sorry to say

Without their input

We’d be well on our way

To a peaceful world

With no more killing

That leaves our soldiers

Only practice and drilling

Will I ever see

This day come along

I very much doubt it

But I hope I’m wrong

Waiting ......

Waiting

Waiting is a part of our lives

You wait for the bus,

And then there’s the post

Wait a few more seconds

And up pops your toast.

We wait for a chance

A moment to seize

It passes us by

With the greatest of ease

We wait for our wives

For how long? God knows

While she paints her eyelashes

And powders her nose

We wait at the red light

With amber in mind

The light turns to green

And you’re hit from behind!

Fishing is different

Waiting is nice

Relaxing surroundings

And beer with ice.

We wait for a bite

Lines cast and mapped

Then comes a screech

And your line’s been snapped!

Waiting for payday

For cash to be given

You work your nuts off

But still you are driven

By the incessant demands

Of a greedy boss

Something he gains

Will surely be your loss!

Waiting for love

Don’t move with such haste

The chances are

It’ll all be a waste!

We wait for a fortune

To drop in our lap

Doing the numbers

To escape the rat trap

We wait for our children

To grow up and flourish

You pay for their keep

Their bodies you nourish

And when they grow up

With degrees and white collars

They’ll duly repay you

With millions of dollars!

Waiting for grandkids

How lovely they are

They smash up your Hi Fi

And throw up in your car

Waiting for retirement

The end is in sight

Twiddling your thumbs

Will be your plight

What else can we wait for?

I hear you cry

Well how about this ….

You’re waiting to die!!

We all have this in common ....

The opposite sex

The female form is a wonder to me

Fluttering eyelashes and made up faces

Curves and bumps

In all the right places

They like to say No

When they really mean yes

What are they thinking?

That’s anyone’s guess

They tell you that you can’t

When they really mean you can

If you listened to them

You wouldn’t be a man

Ladies are lovely

Girls are great

Females are fantastic

Well worth the wait

They love to go shopping

And buy lots of things

Clothing and bracelets

And diamond rings

Shampoos and lotions

To make them all smell good

And if that doesn’t work

It bloody well should!

A ring will make her squeal

A shiny little stone

And if it’s a few carats

You’re guaranteed a moan!

Females can be funny

Angry and tense

But they all have a common factor

They make no sense!

Work ..... a distant memory for some ...

Work

We all have to do it

Work for a living

Finding the money

Is not so forgiving

Study and learn

You’ll have no fear

Getting good grades

Means a decent career

Some of us like it

We work from the heart

Others just hate it

It tears them apart

We clock in every morning

Clock out again at night

Doing our job

Getting it right

And if you feel

Your job is no good

Then change it forthwith

You know that you should

The boss is an ogre

He shouts and he bawls

Open the door

Answer the calls

Nobody likes him

He’s on the attack

If he catches you loafing

He’ll give you the sack

Friday is heaven

Monday is hell

Saturday is great

Sunday as well

Until at last the salary comes

Time to spend

Spending and spending

Does it never end?

Then it is,

With some apprehension

That you finally receive

your old age pension.
