Who? The so called deep state?

Do you know who made that phrase famous? Steve Bannon

But check what he wrote recently about the deep state:

The “deep state conspiracy theory is for nut cases,” Mr. Bannon is quoted as saying in a new book released next week, “Deep State: Trump, the FBI and the Rule of Law” by James B. Stewart

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2019/oct/5/steve-bannon-declares-deep-state-conspiracy-theory/

Funny how Intelligence overnight is no longer the "deep state" when trump uses Intelligence to justify

As an American- I also do not understand the hypocrisy.  This training program should have immediately been stopped and the Saudis sent home.

As  one poster stated- I am proud to be an American and will never give up my citizenship, however, I also must admit the mistakes that my country has made and the Historical record is rife with them.

There are also many things America has done well and this too should be acknowledged.

I don't believe in excluding people simply because of religion. However, there is a certain percentage of people who adhere to the Muslim religion that are radical, hardline believers that believe that they must spread their word across the World and convert by not only the Word but the Sword.  These people don't adhere to the  actual Muslim beliefs but have  enough influence and power to be an existential threat.

The US is right in vetting very seriously anyone from the Middle East who emigrates to the US. Unfortunately, the UK and most of Europe is filled with radicals because they were not vetted properly and are an existential threat to these countries. When found they need to be arrested, tried, convicted and eventuially stripped of any EU citizenship and deported.

Along with this added vetting- It is time for the US to get out of the Middle East and bring the majority of the troops home. Let the Saudi; Jordan; Israle and other moderate countries handle all the 'heavy work' of fighting and dying and not depend on the US to do the work for them.

Did we learn nothing from Vietnam?  We cannot fight another countries fight when those in that country are either too lazy; too unmotivated; too corrupt to fight for their own ideals. It was completely wrong to fight the Vietnam War as well as intervene in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A Trillion Dollars later;  thousands dead and maimed we and others are still there trying to push Democracy in an area where it has never worked and never will work.

America's entry into World War II in conjunction with the British; Australians and others was a righteous effort;  The Korean conflict was to stop the North from imposing a totalitarian system on the South- also backed by the UK and many other countries including Thailand.  Even the First Gulf War is considered righteous to liberate Kuwait  from Sadam Hussein. Again- the US and UK were part of a coalition/

There was no reason to invade Iraq, invade Afghanistan, get involved in Syria . abrogate a signed afreement by Iran, the US, EU  and Russia.  Special Operation Forces could have handled Al Queda and ISIS before they became powerful entitites.

It's time for the Us to leave Iraq; leave Afghanistan and Syria. If the  forces the US has trained and armed over almost 15 years are not ready and have the will to save their be own countries from radicalism- then they deserve to taken over and regressed to the Stone Age.

As far as Iran- there needs to be a third party to negotiate some type of settlement; return to the agreement Trump scuttled and lift the sanctions.  America can keep their base in Quatar and its ships in Bahrain in case Iran bails on any agreement.

A war with Iran would be tragic; cause thousands of deaths; push Worldwide terrorism to an all time high and cause a Worldwide depression.

Trump needs to shut up; listen to his generals; his CIA and civilian defense experts instead of playing with the lives of so many people. Better yet- he needs to be removed from the Presidency either by an impeachment conviction or defeated in the  US election.

The red mark indicates the time he was assassinated.

The red mark is covering 14 hours of time during which the NYSE is not open, this graph only shows market open times connected together, it does not show 24 hr. days. (I assume you know this).  However, google uses a smooth curve to link the dots, so it's better to look at open and close prices:

He was killed at 1:00am Jan 3 Baghdad time, that is 5:00pm Jan 2 New York time.

Jan 03, 2020  open 404.02  high 417.17  low  403.00  close 413.74    vol 2,990,100  open at 9:30 am

Jan 02, 2020  open 392.86  high 399.37  low 390.95  close 399.37    vol 1,258,400 open at 9:30 am

Note: vol on Dec 18 and 20 were over 1,520,000

Note: NYSE rose at the end of Jan 2 also

So the markets closed at 399.20 1 hr before his death, and opened at 404.02 16 hrs after his death, then hit a low of 403.00 before rising.  . Not a lot to write home about.

Great article in the FT back in November about the Donald's woes - could this be the real reason he plays the assassination wild card ? Mr Putin time to release the Kompromat....

Many Americans are convinced that Mr Putin holds kompromat — blackmail material — over Mr Trump. That is possible. It offers a clean explanation for Mr Trump’s un-American foreign policy. That is also the most comforting theory. The alternative is the stuff of insomnia. Instead of suffering an aberration, which can be remedied with Mr Trump’s removal, America is turning into a normal big power. Whichever explanation is true, Russia is happily benefiting

Sadly, this is the only language Iran seems to understand.

And luckily, Trump is fluent at it.

But the Iranians don't understand stupid, which is what your "stable genius" understands and practices on a daily basis.

Try reading a little deeper on Wiki.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran

A 1953 coup instigated by the United Kingdom and the United States resulted in greater autocratic rule under Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and growing Western political influence.[30] A far-reaching series of reforms known as the White Revolution was launched by the Shah in 1963, prompting industrial growth, land reforms, and increased women's rights.[31] Nevertheless, widespread dissatisfaction and unrest against the monarchy persisted, leading to the Iranian Revolution, which established the current Islamic Republic.

The 1979 Revolution, later known as the Islamic Revolution,[163][164][165] began in January 1978 with the first major demonstrations against the Shah.[166] After a year of strikes and demonstrations paralyzing the country and its economy, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi fled to the United States, and Ruhollah Khomeini returned from exile to Tehran in February 1979, forming a new government.[167] After holding a referendum, Iran officially became an Islamic republic in April 1979.[168] A second referendum in December 1979 approved a theocratic constitution.

What I find amusing is that so many Americans are still upset that the government and the leaders that they put in power were overthrown by the Iranian people who declared Iran and independent republic. They seem to forget that is what they did back in the 1770s when they were ruled by Great Britain, but that was OK.

Heaven forbid that other countries should want to do the same.

Orange? He didn't have much trouble finding a good target last Friday.  Susan Rice of Obama fame said they never had a chance to take a shot at him.

But do you think they had to paint Soleimani's van orange in advance?

I think this is tantamount to saying "bring it on". The last time a president said that it did not end well. Come to think of it, 17 years later, it has not ended. There is little doubt that Iran will retaliate, and there is little doubt they are not scared of Don Donald. What he did was the equivalent of Iran taking out Pompeo, the NSA director, and the CIA director, all rolled into one person. Iran can retaliate in ways the pentagon, the very White House, and the CIA has not even dreamed of. Expect utter mayhem in the coming weeks.

President Donald Trump, contemptuous of his predecessor’s every policy, replaced diplomacy with “maximum pressure,” tore up the nuclear deal (with which Iran had been in compliance), and imposed suffocating economic sanctions. Soleimani's death doesn’t decapitate anything, as he was only the agent of a government policy that preceded him and will continue without him.

Reagan spanked Iran BIG TIME blowing up their offshore platforms (ops. preying mantis) and the iranian pansies ran away with their tails tucked between their legs! They did NOTHING except cower. When trumps done with them there will nothing remaining in iran except sand.

Most of the MAGA mob would be raving Allah Akbhar types had they had the misfortune to be born Iranian. What's left of ISIS will be happy that one of their chief tormentors has been killed. It's them and the Saudi terrorists that have exported their bloodshed to the streets of the west. Lest we forget.

Actually, ISIS is likely to benefit most from it, as attention and resources will be directed elsewhere. In addition, the Kurds, who have been screwed by Trump, are likely to look the other way too.

OK, so clearly you don't know about the 400 people burned alive in the theatre and all the other things. You won't believe me, so, here is a real Irani to explain it to you.  30 minutes. He starts in 1909. He is addressing everyone including his fellow Irani. Brilliant speaker and unbiased, this is what unbiased looks like (take notes)
