Arndt777
End of January, me and my wife (we are both German citizens, 65 and 56 years old) will come to Thailand for a long vacation. We both have a 60-days-tourist-visum, and we intend to stay mostly in Hua Hin and South Thailand. It might be, that after the first 60 days we would like to extend our stay for another two or three weeks. Will it be possible to get such an extension from the local immigration office (most probable Hua Hin)? Should we provide any specific documents in order to support our application? ubonjoe
You can apply for a 30 day extension of the 60 day entry from your tourist visa at a immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht. You will need a completed TM7 application form with a 4 X 6 cm photo attached, copies of your passport photo page, visa, entry stamp and TM6 departure card.
Peter Denis
You can apply for a 30 days extension of stay at a local Immigration Office (costs 1900 THB). UbonJoe has already indicated the documents required to do so. It is also likely, that the IO will need a TM30 on file. When you are staying in a Hotel / guesthouse, they will have done this for you (and you won't be even aware that they did it). So, no issue. But if you are staying at the premisses of a friend, that friend should file a TM30 of you staying at his place. Filing of the TM30 can be done in person at the local IO, by mail or on-line. Note: The IO will only be interested whether a current TM30 is on file, and will not bother about your history of staying at earlier places.
