Popular Post webfact
Srisuwan says both running events held on Sunday were illegal By The Nation Activist Srisuwan Janya on Monday posted on his Facebook page that both the running events held on Sunday -- “Walking for Prayut” and “Run against Dictatorship” -- were in violation of the law. Srisuwan, the secretary-general of the Association for the Protection of the Constitution, said video clips of the “Run against Dictatorship” event clearly showed that the running activity at the Railway Park was an unlawful rally. Srisuwan said the leader on the stage egged the participants on to shout “Prayut, go out” with a three-finger symbol. It can be argued that the rally was not peaceful under the Thai Public Assembly Act, Section 6, he said. Srisuwan said it was the duty of the head of the Phahonyothin Police Station to enforce the law according to Section 13. Meanwhile, evidence from the “Walking for Prayut” event also points to activities at Lumpini Park that were unlawful, Srisuwan said. He said the organisers were unable to control the people and the participants were allowed to bring posters of famous politicians for trampling besides the use of three different fruits, oranges, watermelons and strawberries -- symbols mostly related to the opposition Future Forward Party -- with shouting and cheering. Clapping, applauding and shouting are not regarded as a peaceful assembly according to the Thai Public Assembly Act Section 6 although the organisers had notified police about the activity, he said. He added that it was the duty of the chief of the Lumpini Police Station to comply with the law according to Section 13. Popular Post Oziex1
If they are illegal then the full force of the law must be applied to "The Run Against Dictatorship" as for Prayuth's walkers if the RTP can catch up to them maybe they'll get told off. 2

"Srisuwan, the secretary-general of the Association for the Protection of the Constitution" - which one? Didn't exactly lay down their lives as each of them were abandoned, did they? And the most recent was not even paid the proper respect by Prayuth. Who is paying to support this silly organization? 2
Popular Post Chang_paarp
So is he going to file a complaint against both sets of organisers? He has form as a serial complainer to the courts, usually against one side (guess which one). 2

DrTuner
No worries. The lardy BiB won't catch the runners. Will probably be on the wayside gasping for air after 5 meters.

Popular Post PhilAtUbon
In England (and a few more enlightened countries) there is a law of “Vexatious Litigation” where, if legal action is taken solely to harass or subdue adversaries with frivolous lawsuits, it is considered an abuse of the legal system, and they themselves can be prosecuted. For starters, this guy has definitely got it in for Thanathorn and would probably come under this law. And all his other pathetic, bloody-minded, and ego-massaging outbursts should surely be considered a total waste of the courts' resources. This was brought into English law in 1896, but I guess Thailand’s judicial system hasn’t caught up that far yet. 6

todlad
There was an anti Prayut run in Surin, too. It coincided with one of my regular constitutionals following the same route. As far as I could see, no one ran but never mind, walking is fine! At the end of the run there was a rally of 30 people or so as someone gave a speech to the runners. I was not involved in any of it but there were many policemen on hand in and near the park. More than that there was a Police SWAT vehicle there too. Given the turnout and behaviour of the runners, I would conclude that someone's a bit jittery!
