Frenchman detained after lighting cigarette mid-flight to Phuket

PHUKET:-- A 36-year-old Frenchman was taken into custody on landing in Phuket early this morning after he lit a cigarette in the aircraft toilet during his flight from Doha.

Alternate day ban for trucks on Kanchanapisek ring road to reduce pollution

THE HAGUE (Reuters) - The International Court of Justice, the United Nations' highest court, will issue a decision on a request for emergency measures in a genocide case against Myanmar on Jan. 23, the Gambian Ministry of Justice said on Twitter on Monday.

ROME (Reuters) - Rome banned all diesel vehicles from its roads for the first time on Tuesday to try to combat rising pollution, with numerous other cities in central and northern Italy also imposing curbs to cut harmful emissions.

LONDON (Reuters) - Investment in Britain's tech sector surged 44% to a record $13.2 billion pounds in 2019, accounting for a third of all European funding and exceeding the total in France and Germany combined, the UK government's Digital Economy Council said on Wednesday.
