Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Monday (January 20) that the moderate high-pressure system from China covering the upper Northeast of Thailand and the South China Sea and the westerly trough at a high altitude would bring cold air from the Himalayas to the North of Thailand.

A Thai woman went on Twitter to claim that a friend who took a foreigner to visit Wat Pho was forced to pay 2,000 baht tea money to the tourist police after they were accused of being an illegal guide.

'Over 600 hotels, bungalows' cause a stink in Khao Kho National Park

Nine hospitals in provinces suffer impact from drought

Nine hospitals in Surin and Chaiyaphum provinces have been seriously affected by the drought, Health Ministry spokesman Dr Rungrueng Kitphati said.

 

All the nine hospitals have been notified to contact the water coordinating agencies in their areas to look for a reserve water source and prepare to drill artesian wells in order to have sufficient water.

Baht weakens against dollar after tough talk by central bank

A UK tourist fighting for his life in Thailand is feared to be the first western victim of the Chinese flu-like coronavirus.

 

Ash Shorley, 32, was rushed to hospital in Phuket after a pneumonia-style bug infected both lungs while he was on Koh Phi Phi island.
