  • Can't we just listen to the old activists that pull the strings and write the scripts for the young activists? As if Greta ever had an original thought in her life.

  • Not Greta again !

If we have come to the point where children are now supposed to be teaching adults how to behave, then we have entered into a serious cultural regression, quite possibly a terminal one.   As

Sigh.  Yet another thread where grown male snowflakes incur brown stains in their trousers over the words of a teenage girl.

What stokes this fear?

The truth.   It's very scary for some.

Why would you think it is fear?

We choose to not be like you sheep that blindly believe what the legacy media peddles to you.

How many times do I need to ask for one of you alarmist sheep to provide even one instance of a climate prediction that has come to pass?

The opinion of the old geezers here is as usual, denyal of established science. Google is their friend. In the mean time the people who are affected by this seem to care and are willing to change.

It is the idiocy of some that stokes the fear.

Were it not so serious and sad it would be very funny and clownlike. Man made climate change deniers is somewhat of a misnomer because the term is misleading... it should be or rather be more accurately described as, reason and method deniers. A house cannot blow up due to a gas leak. A helium balloon would float forever. A person could not kill themselves by putting their head in a gas oven or by rerouting exhaust fumes into a car. Idiocy of the highest order.

Many of the older generation aren't maybe as motivated as Greta's generation to put policy (for a greater good) ahead of profits.

Many of the older generation just don't believe the alarmism, so why would they be motivated to do anything about it?

Where the whole climate Chicken Littleism falls down is that those of us been around a while know that the sea isn't rising, and storms are no worse than in the past. School kids have no experience of life beyond a few years to know how things were in the not so recent past.

We've also been around long enough to know that if governments are not doing more than give lip service to the situation, it's probably not really serious at all.

Such as? I don't know anyone "affected" by "this", "whatever "this" may be.

I wonder, what will you tell your children

I never had children, so I have none to tell. Even 50 years ago I could see that the world was going to be overpopulated, and chose not to add to it.

If I had had any, I'd tell them to not have any themselves, or to stick at one.

The number one best way to deal with man made climate change is to not have any more children than the world can sustain.

I tried google

In March 2011, carbon dioxide levels were at 391 ppm, which is 0.0391 percent of the atmosphere. Of that tiny amount 97 percent is naturally produced carbon dioxide.

Somebody needs to tell grumpy Greta ????

Greta, do you actually believe that politicians listen, tell the truth, keeping their promises.

They are nothing more then criminals in a penguin outfit.

From Twitter: Many are asking for Greta to tell us what to do about the new SARS epidemic.

Facts are not considered in the new religion, IMO. I wonder how many that think the idea of "God" is ludicrous believe every word that comes out of the mouth of their new "messiah"?

Water vapor is the main greenhouse element in the atmosphere, but they can't tax that.

Greta has popped so many blood vessels of elderly men, it itself counts as great advance when fighting the climate change and overpopulation ????

Honestly, sometimes I think the Thai Visa monitors post Greta Thunberg items just to watch people’s blood get boiling. But one thing is worth bearing in mind. It wasn’t too long ago that (US) college-age kids protesting their government were lambasted by the “establishment” for being communist stooges, spoiled trust fund babies, Jane Fonda wannabes, whatever, and dismissed for not knowing what they were talking about. Unlike the adults, who had things under control.

As it turns out, the kids were right! Their government (the Nixon administration) really WAS a pack of crooks and liars! US involvement in Vietnam really WAS a colossal miscalculation, the worst mistake in US foreign policy history!

Really, sometimes there’s nothing more dangerous than the hubris of old men.

Feel free to vote in a group of teenagers the next time there is an election in your country. If the voters want to be ruled by children they'll vote for them.

Nobody voted for Greta- she was, far as I can see- imposed on us by old people with an agenda.

Because they are much older already and do not need to grow up in a world full of ecological disasters ...

Climate change has been around for umpteen million years,

we can expect that to continue, our immediate threat is pollution, how do you cook a radio active chicken containing plastic and phosphates etc?

Just do not forget to put your mask on when you go out ...

I prefer Greta to the Hogg and Gomez scripted puppets, just wish she had been born long enough ago to remember when we were facing a new ice age, ozone layer rather than plastic straws etc.

What are you on about? We all grew up in a world full of natural disasters. Disasters are a normal part of nature. Nothing's changed.

Indeed. One has to wonder why governments are bending over backwards to give lip service ( and impose new taxes ) on "climate change", but do sod all about pollution, which really is a problem that can be solved.

BTW, banning plastic bags is not a solution when everything in the supermarket is wrapped in plastic.

That's strong. Facts are undeniably human made climate change, and now you try to turn the argument around.

It is the deniers that don't like facts.

?????????????????????????

I don't, and never have worn a mask when going out.

There are many more reasons for man made climate change than overpopulation.
