Interesting. Are they then suggesting that he went there to murder someone and the robbery was a diversion? Would surely have been easier to do the murder away from the CCTV.

Rude statement. God Bless America though!

While I often have less than complimentary words for the RTP, to those of us who questioned their competence when they claimed he may have left the country and blamed the media for giving the game away.

Disinformation is a common Police tactic to possibly change the behaviour of a suspect.

Looks hansum.

Should be popular in prison.

He won't be in prison for long, I can see a terrible case of suicide in his tea leaves

He only got 16,000 USD.  At 1000 USD/month that would only last me 16 months.  Not sure what his burn rate is?  Seems like small potatoes for how well he was prepared with clothing and silencer.  Wouldn't it have been wiser to pick a "softer" target than in a shopping mall?  A little more out of the way location?

Also, why shoot the salesgirl 3 times?  Seems like an excessive display of force.  Doubtful most Gold shop sales girls would resist robbery by an armed robber to justify this level of force.

Just one more thing... ????

Last week I was PM'ing with our popular forum member Nyezhov, an American I believe. I was P.M'ing him about the pistol the murderer used as I didn't wish to bore the forum with such things, my knowledge being just a little above nil . Nyezhov stated last Friday that the pistol was a CZ. According to the telly just now he was correct.

100% not the guy. 100% scapegoat. Poor chap. I don't care what kind of sociopath you are, nobody kills 5 people then takes his wife out to dinner and plays a game of football and smiles for a bunch of pictures. The guy looks as if he doesn't have a care in the world in his pics the day after the murders. Anyone that committed such a crime would have left Thailand long ago. No chance they go back to their hometown and it's business as usual. And to be able to hold it all together after murdering 5 people???? Give me a break, even the most ruthless stone cold killers don't have that kind of cool. Even the Thais aren't buying this one. The man was a well-respected teacher in his community and also quite loaded. Had 5++ BMWs, a personal yacht, a decent looking wife...why on Earth would this guy rob a store for a meager 500,000 baht? The Beamer in his drive way is worth at least 3 million baht in Thailand. The yacht in his drive way is worth 20 million at least. Everyone knows that you can't become a director of a school without taking lots of bribes and also without being super nice. Hence, where all his wealth comes from. Teachers in Thailand are quite often stupid rich if they work for the government. Poor guy. The locals all know who the real killer is. Guy that lived in this village that was x-military, history of mental illness, and related to high-up government officials. This is all about saving face. I wonder how long it took the police to find a guy to frame. Despicable.  Note to self: do not ever work at a shooting range while living in Thailand. Immediate red flag.

I think the real question is whether or not his girlfriend is available for dating now? My wife just showed me a picture of him with his Thai GF on a Thai news site and oh my goodness... The cleavage is phenomenal, epic... A MUST SEE!!!

So share it man!!!!!!!!!

Hope they got the right guy     all I can say   shooting a little kid for no apparent reason that's just walking in the shopping mall with his mum is unforgivable and maybe even in hell

According to Matichon newspaper, the gun he used, a CZ SP01, belonged to his father, an ex-policeman. He then returned it after the shooting. His mother was a teacher.

The motorbike belonged to his father-in-law. Likewise, he returned it.

He claimed he was bored with life, wanted a challenge, and some colour and excitement in his life.

The police only believe parts of his statement, the paper said.

There are 49 students at his school. He is far from your normal director. Having all these possessions points to borrowing vast amounts of money, gambling to try to pay it back and then failing to do so. Only way out was to do suicide by cop. If he got the gold, all well and good. If not, shot dead and doesn't have to worry about the debts. It's a win-win. IMHO. ????

Unconfirmed reports said the man confessed to the killing three people, including a two year old child, as well as seriously injuring four others and stealing gold worth more than 500,000 baht in the robbery at the Aurora gold shop at Robinsons in Lopburi on the evening of Thursday January 9th

So I'll wait until he comes up with the gold or where it has been disposed of, also items of clothing used in the robbery to match him to CCTV.

If robbery wasn't the "primary motive" then why the shooting of innocent people including the young child?

This guy has not been proven guilty in a court of law.

Does Thai Visa really want to allow this guy's face everywhere on the forum prior to his conviction?

They said they got his DNA from sweat on the counter.  I call BS on that.  Covered from head to toe, with gloves on.  Where did the sweat come from, his eyeballs?

Has the reward been claimed?

Excuse me, was there a guys face in that picture?

Genuinely disturbing how frequently and quickly people "admit" to crimes in Thailand.  Even more disturbing in a death penalty case (if ever there is a case where it will be dusted off, this is it).  Plenty of people have their already typed confession shoved under their nose and various pressure techniques employed to force a signature.  Any credible legal system acknowledges the dangers of admission evidence, particularly to the underprivileged.  Most, if not all, western countries require that admissions be recorded on video.

lets hope there is strong independent evidence of this chaps involvement, and that it is not another case where he is fighting for his life based on dodgy procedure.
