I still can't sleep and I came across this while flicking through an old notepad. I penned it last december and thought I'd share it with you.

You're so old but you are only 23,

I am pushing thirty but you're pulling fifty three,

A bargain basement walrus, drooling like a hound,

He whispers in your ear and takes you by the hand as the Jenga bricks fall down.

Go, go to see your family and pay the monthly bit,

That mother thinks you're earning at a restaurant in Mo Chit,

Somehow you're drunken father knows you've lied for far too long,

So he gives you a shiner for renting your vagina which paid for his Sang Som.

She hopes to find her honey and make a brand new start,

Someone stole her money, but someone stole her heart,

At least he's not a walrus with a handlebar moustache,

But an ex butterfly who just saw the light - which attracted him and made him a moth.

It's a bit late following the tail of the Bargirl/Forsake/Barscene thread, and at the time of writing it was meant to be a song but I don't have my keyboard to compose on.

I've already submitted it to a magazine, but I've got this creative outlet which has nowhere to go.

It would be the cherry on the cake to form a band and write original songs to perform on the expat circuit - maybe not as serious though. :o

The idea to form an all expat band was proposed many times by others and myself. Still nothing going on :D . I would just love it.

I play bass. :o

Anyone interested?

Good point, there's a Phillipino band who do a regular circuit on Samui.

I sing and play keyboards but mine is in storage in England and is too big to get sent over. It's like the dashboard of the Starship Enterprise.

Nothing is impossible though.

I know Dutchy plays guitar, and not sure but Huski does as well. Never heard of a drummer on here, they may be in the jungle banging away on logs, no net connections....

I've got a synth out here - Yamaha CS2x. Haven't give it much attention though, and it's been cleared off my desk to make way for a pair of Technics turntables.

If you want to get something together in BKK, I'm game. Afraid I can't sight read too well and nowhere near the ability to play by ear. Bit rusty to be honest - as mentioned above, haven't been playing seriously since I moved here (3 years ago).
