ITV interviewed a Brit in Wuhan and he reported that Wuhan residents are in isolation until April. He wants to return to his family, but only those with American passports are being evacuated. A Brit with dual US citizenship, used his American Passport to travel on an Wuhan evacuation flight to the USA. He will be held in isolation for 17 days.

Wuhan City now has the appearance of a ghost city.

Australia is sending a flight to Wuhan. The passengers will be kept on Christmas Island for 14 days.

I suspect you have done very little research so let me explain a few things - every thing I write here is FACT. 

 

they said they can not stop is spreading - of course not - if there are 8 cases today and 10 tomorrow - it is spreading - if all 10 are in hospital getting treatment and then released = I would agree this is under control. they are not necessarily contradictory comments.

 

If people who are not educated on exactly what is going on continue to panic yes hospitals will get over crowded despite in most cases having almost ZERO chance to have the virus. 

 

Canadian scientist have stated that only prolonged interaction in close quaters with an infected person are you likely to catch it. 

 

To the best of my knowledge still only 2 people have contracted the virus outside of China - 1 a bus driver of chinese tourists 1 a german who had just spent 1 or 2 days with a colleague from China who sadly did not show any symptoms till after he left germany. 

 

Avoid spending prolonged periods with any one who has just returned from China and the chances of getting infected are incredibly slim - with the information we currently have those are the facts. 

 

stay safe every one but also stay calm.

That's not true... Regular drugstore masks are marginally helpful. N95 respirator masks like the 3M variety can be very effective in preventing inhaling of the virus... but the masks don't protect wearer's eyes.

 

There's a reason every time you see hospital staff in China they're wearing N95 respirator masks... and why health care workers in other countries dealing with suspected or diagnosed coronavirus cases are wearing them as well.

Agree with your full post. But as for the N95 masks, the newer and unfortunately more expensive kind have an exhale valve built in that makes them much more comfortable to wear in hot and humid environments like Thailand.

 

Unfortunately, right now in Thailand, any N95 masks of credible quality are almost impossible to find/buy.

The virus has spread in China beyond Wuhan. Plus lots of region residents there left / escaped / went traveling before the local authorities imposed their travel restrictions.

Probably blame farangs and legislate that foreign retirees must obtain compulsory health insurance that gives them sweet f@xk all coverage but at ten times the cost of a Thai citizen seeking private insurance.

The US evacuation flight was supposed to leave China today and head for Ontario CA where I presume they'll do some kind of isolation.

 

They had originally talked of having the flight go to San Francisco, but then apparently thought better of that idea, and instead picked a more isolated and less busy airport where things presumably can be better contained and controlled.

Well I think it's pretty obvious what'll happen if they try to quarentine Bangkok, there'll be the biggest stampede of people leaving ever seen on Earth and the feckless government will be completely unable to stop it...

 Immigration I believe has said they will waive overstay fines for folks whose travel plans have been impacted by the virus outbreak.

It is available and indeed used in all schools in Thailand.  The problem being the 'anti vaccination' brigade that is causing some infections.  14 died in Thailand in 2019.

If you have been vaccinated, then you are immune.
