Featured Replies

Hi,

i am greek citizen and presumably

i will be shortly neeeding to do the visa run. My question , which might be horribly naive and silly, is:

do i need a visa for laos, to do my visa run?, or is it a matter of arriving in vientiane and getting one there?

any info will be much appreciated

visa on arrival is fine, you would actually get it the far side of the mek kong river.. I think there cheaper to get in bangkok though, saves messing about when u get there aswell... :o

They have slightly different regulations for groups of countries, mostly fees and length of stay, some cannot apply at the border, so check it out beforehand, there is a visa office in Kon Kaen! With Greek passport you should get the same conditions as most western countries, 14 days visa (some say they got 30) at the border at Nong Khai, $30 and 1 small foto or $1, takes 20 minutes max.

Don't get pulled in by tuk-tuk drivers and other scammers to use any services of the numerous 'friendly' agents.
