Thai PM falls sick, but it’s not coronavirus

Featured Replies

Well can't feel sorry as he has made most of the general population and then some sick to their stomachs. But as viruses go, they do tend to infect the ones directly surrounding you. Gonna go pray now for better things..

  • No way will they admit he has corona virus, even if he has. He said it was 100% under control, now if he has caught it, it will make him look a bigger plonker than normal.

  • Should that be considered good news or bad?   Answers on a postcard please

  • And by the public .............. to give it a rest.

Ailing Prayut begs off duties for a day

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha cancelled his scheduled appointments on Thursday (January 30) due to illness.

A person close to the premier said Prayut had a fever and was fatigued and was resting at home on his doctor’s advice.

His symptoms had no relation to Prayut’s visit to Suvarnabhumi Airport on Wednesday to inspect virus control measures, the person said.

In his stead, Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presided at an awards presentation on Thursday morning and Deputy Defence Minister Chaichan Changmongkol chaired a meeting at the Defence Ministry.

BREAKING NEWS:

97% of Thai people send PM get well soon messages.

He will, of course, personally oversee and supervise his treatment to make sure that those who know what they are doing know what they are doing.

Actually HK researchers made a quick test. Only takes a few hours. That was done about a week back but not sure what Thai hospitals are using.

The Japanese had test results back for the virus very quickly after their first planeload of 200+ evacuees landed back in Japan.

AFAICT, Thailand appears to have adopted a policy that they'll only confirm a virus case once the lab test result from wherever has been confirmed by one of a couple Thai government laboratories.

What's happening in that process, no one knows, and no one seems to be saying.

Samitivej Hospital noted the following in one of their posts here lately:

Quote

A specific biological examination is required to confirm infection in 2019-nCoV. A rapid detection examination has been developed by the National Respiratory Virus Reference Centre. Available at Samitivej hospitals.

So if Samitivej Hospitals can do that test, you can pretty much bet the other major private hospitals in BKK can as well... And yet.... apparently... those aren't enough to satisfy those in charge.

Hope lives. Because Thailand is seemingly unable to test for the virus (backlog 220 now), he might still have it. According to Lancet there's a 14% or so chance of getting lucky

as soon as I saw the first words I thanked God..... but the remaining words made me feel sick....

Looking at the photo, he cannot even wear the mask properly.

'nuf sed.

out of that 97% (maybe) sure that 95% were hypocrites and not wishing him well

all of those amulets he wears must be failing to do their job.... or just got heavy to carry around!

Maybe, just maybe, it's because he borrowed them from a "dead friend".

'nuf sed.

Anyone seen/heard any updates on whether our 100% under control fearless leader is back on the job today???

Prayut has probably slipped out the back door and is recuperating in an another country which has nice clean air...

Let him recover outside on the balcony. Because pm2.5 has been solved already, so he should like it. Maybe the reason why he is sick in the first place. สมนำหน้า

Could be climate change or Brexit? Best see a fortune teller, maybe with Cobra.

Darn.

He's sick .... and tired of the constant criticism; he has a permanent headache about all the problems he can't solve and maybe the polluted Bangkok air is contributing to his illness.

Early retirement sounds like

a reasonable option, would assume he has a good retirement fund organised.

How, if it takes so many days to test suspected cases, does he get tested so fast?

In other words, they can test quickly, right?

????3-5 hours before test results are ready in Europe.

I think I had the flu once, whatever it was it grounded me for a full 2 weeks and even then I was kind of tired.

It might have just been a bad cold, who knows, but that was about 30 years ago and nobody else in the house caught it from me.

If he's got the flu at his age then he's in for a world of pain for a couple of weeks and there's no chance of a quick recovery in just a couple of days.
