A Facebook user called Rungnapha Jantharasakha who is in the pet shop business is claiming that a man is posting many videos showing the torture and killing of birds.

Channel 7 featured one such claim about a cockatiel - an Australian parrot species - being killed online.

Rungnapha and other pet shop people in the north east appear to be on the trail of the man and are pressing the authorities to investigate and make an arrest.

She said that many birds have been killed and she wants other breeders and sellers to try and help find him.

She thinks that it is likely that the man did not breed himself but bought this one as an adult.

On her Facebook page she published a picture of a person she claims may be responsible.

I don't believe there is any form of an animal cruelty unit. Just police report.  Things like social media help encourage an investigation I would assume.

A serial torturer like this is a good marker for underlying mental illness for being a psychopathic.  By posting online I dare say he is getting a thrill in horrifying and upsetting others too.  Needs to be taken out.

TSPCA - Thai Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was established in 1994.

Though I'll grant you we rarely hear about them in the Thai press.

There really are some truly sick people around. Words fail me to express my utter disgust with this cruel <deleted>. And to make matters worse, very little is going to happen to that human trash if he ever should be caught.

I think it's wrong to kill birds but many countries are also hypocritical. They kills millions of pigs, cows, chickens everyday and nobody blink an eye.

Chicken is just a form of bird.

I saw a video on how Thai people slaughter the pigs on their last day, it was more horrible.

in the making.

Let me ask you a question. If somebody were to kill your favorite pet , would it matter whether it was killed for food or for fun?

It doesn't matter to the dog because it dies horribly.

I dare not even link the video where the pigs were slaughtered here.

What can I say? This doesn't hit me in the gut, like it might with a dog, who I consider to be as emotionally intelligent as we are, if intellectually challenged. But Jesus. What kind of warped mind finds this entertaining. It's a sentient being. Nature's cruel enough already, we don't need to add to the torment. My comfort is in the fact that you're subject to the same laws, karma and all that. It might relieve your personal torment for a little while, but the bird is just a bird, and you are a human, with all that entails as regards responsibility, the objective difference between right and wrong, and free will.

You've never owned a parrot before.  They outlive us and are smarter than dogs.
