I will be leaving in a few months to visit family back home and have my reentry pass. Question: I have funds threw social security that go to my bank account here have account for one for deposits and the other for paying bills out of. Now, the US does not allow the deposit account to have online or a debit card for that account. So, what do you do to move money from one account to another if I am out of the country? Can it be set up by the bank to move funds even though i am not present? First time going back home to visit.

I will talk with them as the account I have set up with the US will not allow internet or debit card as the US wants me to go to the bank this is the account they set up to get my social check from the US

I will guess that you are using Bangkok Bank, as I am aware of that they are working that way with deposits of social security. 

What you can do is to go in to the bank and make auto return of your deposits. With that said you must know how long time you will stay home.

Thank you as about a few months till we come back to Thailand now you mentioned auto return if it goes back to USA it goes back to social security?

Yes it does.

It seems you have a direct deposit account set up and your SSA payments are being direct deposited via Bangkok Bank's New York branch.

You could change to the relatively new International Direct Deposit (IDD) arrangement to a different account. No need to do all your transactions in person. Sign up form for it is here. https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ssa-1199-op107.pdf

If you are using your transfers to prove your income for an extension of stay at immigration there is one problem with IDD is that the transfers arrive as baht and transferred to the Bank of THailand (BOT) and are then transferred via BahtNet and will be shown as international transfers into your account.

Thank you for this information as yes it is SSA Payments as I do not work (disabled) and it goes threw the branch in New York I just need to change or alter it for a few months then back to normal but my account shows years of the same deposits from SSA in or around the 3rd of each month. I would assume that they have to know or understand that at points of our marriage here we have to go back and forth for visiting family and during that time we need to be able to pay the bills here while of Thailand. There is so much emphasis put on funds they neglect to understand people live their lives on that money it is not for just sitting in bank for Thailand but who am I.... lol

I have the same account at Bangkok Bank. My planning for any trips would be to leave shortly after the 3rd of the month and return around the 3rd of the next month. But I doubt it would much more than a couple of weeks.

If your are regularly using the same bank branch you might be able to arrange with them to allow somebody to initiate the transfer to your other account. Just complete the forms sign them and attach a copy of your passport to them.

Was going to do that and talk to the manager of the branch by where we live and yes been with the bank for many years and have the 2 accounts described above one for depositing (no online or debit card) and the other for paying the bills here. So, what happens is money goes into the account and then i have to go to the bank and move money into my other account.

as Ubonjoe said, you can now get a direct deposit to your local account at Bangkok Bank (or others).  

Fill out the form and mail it to the SS office in Manila.

I did mine last May (middle of the month) and the money started being deposited 3 July.

I access my money with an ATM card.

Well the issue is the way the account is set up as the bank does not allow that account access to a card or online as it makes you have to go to the bank in person which normally is not really an issue till now where we will start going back and forth to USA and need to be able to move the money to pay bills without going to the bank in person and need the online access as we can move money via the phones

I guess you missed the fact that he has a special account for direct deposits that requires him to do all transactions in person (no ATM/Debit card or online banking).

      Never the less , you would like to have more flow ! That is not possible, the flow is delivered by the main pump of the building, if there (probably) is. There could be something wrong with main system and therefor you dont have enough water. Pressure regulator, or pump. Maybe they installed later on extra piping and didnt increase pump flow. So the pump is too small in capacity. But mentioned as well, blocking of water pipes, maybe a main valve half open? 26 stories is 26 X 2 meters (give or take) = 54 meters. 54 meters is 5.4 bar of pressure loss. So down you start with 10 bar and on your floor it is 4.6 bar. And im not counting the loss then of the resistance of pipe, diameter of pipes, valves in pipes, bends in pipes. They all are negative influences on system. If you use a booster pump with bigger flow to give, you could have plumbing problems. Water is taken out in inlet, but if there is not anymore, you will have air sucked into pump. Also in piping/plumbing and a vacuum can exist, destroying it. Then you have more problems. Pipes arent specified for vacuum and will break down pipes. You take booster pup too big in flow, you will have nasty problems. No water. You can only use a booster pump which is limited to the max flow of the system. You have to find out , how many water is coming out in a certain time. You fill a bucket of 10 ltr, valve wide open and see how long it takes before bucket is full. Measure time. Then you can divide 10 ltr on amount of time , which shows you then the max flow on max open valve. So if the 10 ltr is done in 2 minutes = 1 ltr/0.2 minutes or 5 ltr/min. Of course you can make it any dimension of flow, depending on what booster pump is giving as max flow intake. Data of pump. Be aware ! you do this in a moment of time. You dont know if other people in condo's also use water. If they also use water, your flow is going down. So you could have earlier mentioned problems, destruction. Choosing the pump is critical. How can you solve? Put in a buffertank of 100 ltr(?) with open connection on top ! Air inlet for tank. There need to be 2 electric levelswitches and 2 electric valves. One on inlet , working on max level of tank switching off water inlet and one switching on low level and stops booster pump. Maybe the latter is extra, as the pump will give you no water anymore when tank is empty. And because of the tank with air inlet ! your plumbing is protected. However you can have fluttering then of the pump, water - no water, when no low level switch Then you have 100 ltr for booster pump to shower or connected to all, everywhere until water in tank is gone. Not specific , you need a booster pump then, you can also use normal pump. But you have 100 ltr water until the tank chosen is empty. For tank, space is essential and how big.

      Photo courtesy of Manila Bulletin Scammers are exploiting the public by sending fraudulent text messages claiming to originate from the Department of Health (DOH), which promise refunds for purported hospital overpayments. The DOH alerted the public to this deceptive scheme recently. Reports have emerged of individuals receiving messages asserting they are owed over ₱8,000 (approximately 5,800 Thai Baht) through something called the "DOH zero billing plan." Recipients are urged to click a dubious link to claim their supposed refund. The DOH, in an official advisory, clarified, "The transaction in the image is a type of scam. It did not come from the DOH or any government agency." The department emphasised that neither it nor its hospitals send unsolicited links to the public, warning people against clicking suspicious URLs in such scam messages. Under the Marcos administration’s “Bayad na Bill Mo” or “No Balance Billing” programme, legitimate benefits include free basic services and accommodation across all DOH hospitals in the country. This programme is entirely separate from the misleading texts being circulated. The department stressed the importance of remaining vigilant against such scams, as these tactics often employ official-sounding names and false promises to deceive recipients into clicking harmful links or unwittingly divulging personal information. To protect themselves from these scams, the public is encouraged to verify health-related information through the DOH’s verified website and social media platforms before taking any action based on unsolicited messages. As these fraudulent activities continue to target unsuspecting individuals, the DOH's reminder serves as a crucial call for awareness and caution.
