Anybody planning to go back to the US?
Air pollution is a problem, and why we live below Hua Hin. Above HH, and the air is not good enough for me / us. Roads are only dangerous to people that don't know how to drive. I've had 1 oops here, in 25 yrs, and it was my fault. Same 25 yrs in the USA, and I've been hit by others, about 5 times. I feel much safer driving here, especially on a motorcycle. MC get no respect in the USA. Clean water, not a problem at all. You can filter your water, city or rain. I filtered my water in the USA, so no different than here. We drink RO bottled water here, excellent, and better than any municipal water in the USA. Everything else, is rain water, 8 or 9 months of the year, and the municipal water here is clean, though should filter if drinking. Hospitals, so far, excellent, accessible and inexpensive compared to USA, even if having insurance there. Unless hi-tech or long term expensive care, I'll take Thai healthcare over USA. I can afford to live almost anywhere, I'm staying here / TH. -

Relative status of BMW and Porche
But when it does happen. I always drive second hand cars. I now notice ten year old cars in the UK don't have a spare at all and they are not run flats. What is the effing use of that, except to save money. At least in Thailand I assume calling recovery is not expensive. As I wrote... Given the rarity of a flat - its not something I'm concerned with at all. Given that most punctures would be tiny, the Tire Mobility Kit (TMK) which includes a sealant and an air compressor is easier to use than changing a wheel. But, if I were concerned - I'd buy a spare... So, if thats something which concerns you, you can buy a spare and keep it in your boot... Or even a space saver spare - or would you prefer to save the money ?... after all, the cost of spare in any vehicle is passed on to the customer anyway. -
