Sounds like an excellent plan. It is easy to be impressed by Mike Pence, his cool and calm demeanor, and close relationship with Trump inspires much confidence. With this virus emergency looming large it is reassuring that Trump and Pence are in charge, more so after seeing the utter chaos, depravity and gutter politics at the democrat debates - it does hammer the point home. The world is lucky to have these 2 at the helm during this storm. Good luck to all of us in overcoming the corona challenge.

Pence will say-let God sort it out

If he had any sense he would postpone his rallies until further notice as they serve no purpose other than his own self-glorification.

No, have more rallies. Maybe someone with the virus will attend...

On another note:

CDC confirms the first US coronavirus case of 'unknown' origin. The California patient was hospitalized for days before getting tested

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/02/27/health/us-cases-coronavirus-community-transmission/index.html

For the first time, a US patient has contracted novel coronavirus with no clue as to where it came from.

The California patient didn't travel anywhere known to have the virus, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said. And the patient wasn't exposed to anyone known to be infected.
That means this could be the first US case of "community spread" of the virus.

What you have seen in China and seen Trump praising (and the WHO as well for good measure) is what will come to pass everywhere and soon. The logic and virulence of the virus dictates that not that of business.

Not in trumps mind everything exists to benefit business all else is expendable I think that’s the way he thinks, pence is getting set up to be the fall guy imo with the stock market melting down this will be a good test for trump lord knows he’s had practice with his business failures and bankruptcies interesting times indeed

For the Trump Stock shills this is the worse drop in the Dow in history. DT owns that just as he 'owned' the fag end of the bull market. Where the bottom of this market is god only knows. A week ago I was shrilly shouting SELL carnage was on its way I do hope some heeded the siren call I certainly did.

yes Dr. Pence will have it all under control and if it spreads he will declare it God's will against the sinful

Trump wants Pence to be in charge of all communications regarding COVID-19...which is to say, to make sure as little factual information gets out as possible.  Yes-man Pence will not disappoint.

The whole Trump’s administration handling the corona virus pandemic is pathetic and fully unprepared. Starting from the commander in chief himself who cut the budget for CDC and his only hope is for a miracle. Then his Homeland director who can’t even provide the number of infection. And the best part, appointing Mike Pence who is in charge of messaging because he just don’t know what he can do. Totally inapt administration to handle the crisis.

President Donald Trump told people he put Vice President Mike Pence in charge of the government's response to the coronavirus because he didn't "have anything else to do," The New York Times reported, citing people familiar with the president's comments.

That's a good point.  The US has tested around 445.  Japan around 1,890.  S. Korea?  66,652 as of 27 Feb.  This is why there's so many confirmed cases in S. Korea.

Pence's decades-old 'smoking doesn't kill' statement resurfaces after coronavirus appointment

Vice President Mike Pence, the man now leading the nation's response to public health threat from the coronavirus outbreak, once wrote "smoking doesn't kill."

President Donald Trump on Wednesday tapped Pence to work with the CDC, NIH and other government agencies to coordinate U.S. response to the outbreak.

But Pence's statement on smoking — made during his 2001 run for a congressional seat — could come back to haunt him.

The likelihood of many more infections is pretty much assured, and by extension so is Pence’s failure in his new responsibilities.

The question then arises does Trump simply want Pence to take the accountability and if so who will Trump choose as his new ’running mate’?

Pence’s days seem numbered.

I saw news recently that Trump plans to reduce his staff. He wants only loyalists on his staff.

Maybe his master plan is to throw Pence under the bus after he fails. Then Trump will declare no need for a VP; he'll handle it all himself. Sole Ruler seems to be his desire.

IMHO - Even the most diehard trump cultists are posting fewer mindless posts blindly following their cult leader. I suspect they are still cult member but just maybe have a small bit of realization that their dear leader is a fool..even though they fully support him.

I see that as a good sign..but maybe not. The cult members remind me of stories about the soviet union under Stalin - If there was some failure - a factory not meeting quota for example the factory manager was at fault  the system and their dear leader Stalin were perfect so everything else had to be at blame. Pure cult of personality.

You have expressed an excellent observation. Quite possibly, the "diehard Trump cultists" are hedging their bets knowing that "dear leader is a fool" who is quite possibly about to mishandle a potential pandemic. Perhaps the "cult" has decided to lay low for a bit and conform to "dear leader's" infamous words of "we'll see, we'll see what happens".

Actually he only cares about being reelected. If the stock market drops big he loses his "strongest economy ever" mantra and would likely not win in November.

I think what he really cares about is losing immunity from prosecution.

"If you were in search of a scientifically minded, steadying presence to guide the country through the potential fallout of the coronavirus, you could not do much worse than Vice-President Mike Pence"

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/feb/28/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-ted-cruz-coronavirus

"

“As you are speaking as the oracle of science, tell us, what exactly is a Y chromosome?” Cruz responded on Twitter. “And at what age of gestation does science tell us that an unborn child feels physical pain?”

He may have picked the wrong opponent – Ocasio-Cortez, it transpires, holds an award for microbiology from MIT.....

Touting her scientific background bona fides, and jabbing at Cruz, who, like Pence, gives primacy to his religious beliefs over science, she suggested delivered an acerbic put-down.

“I’m surprised you’re asking about chromosomes given that you don’t believe in evolution,” she said."
