Popular Post webfact Posted March 2, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 2, 2020 Salon owner had her car stolen by customer who took her car for a test drive Picture: INN A salon owner in Chonburi thought it was her lucky day when a customer who was in for a hairdo showed an interest in her Toyota that was for sale. Prapatsara, 27, had seen the advert stuck in the window of the car and thought this would be an ideal vehicle for her. The regular customer took the car for a test drive and came back to announce that it was perfect and she would buy it. Though she needed to take it for one more run - just to make sure. That was back in September and Uraiwan had not seen her car or Prapatsara since. She tried calling her and was told that she would soon pay for it. But months passed and no cash was forthcoming. The alleged thief - who denied everything - was caught by crime suppression outside a large store in Chumpae, Khon Kaen at the weekend and taken back to Samed police station to face charges after being slapped with a warrant. INN reported that she had previous offences against her name for selling goods online but disappearing without sending them. Popular Post spiekerjozef Posted March 2, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 2, 2020 Maybe there was a misunderstanding in how long the test drive was going to be? 2 1 10
CanuckThai Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Interesting story, with a nice ending. Anyone surprised by the action/reaction of what transpired? I'd on the horn after an hour or 2, wanting my car...not 6 months. I guess the same happens with land and squatters....what I am thinking. 1

I would never do that - from my experience of listening to what people 'say' they will do and what they actually do. 1

marko kok prong Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 So she knew the person she stole it from is it me,or are these Thai criminals getting more stupid by the day. 1
SiSePuede419 Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 She probably won't come back to get her hair done at this salon again. ☺️ 1

Now, that would be dangerous. Rooster 1 3

The initial test drive is understandable... But who lets a customer drive your car away after saying it was perfect and agreeing to buy it? Cash/payment first with the exchange of paperwork stating new ownership?

I didn't say she was smart, i just said that the thief was not a complete stranger to her ???? 1
roo860 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 (edited) I sold my bicycle last week to a Thai guy. He turned up in his car, told him he could take the bike for a spin, but needed to hand me his car keys, which he did, should have taken his car, that would have been a good swap. ???? The family hadn't got it; I would not pay so S-i-L paid bank for four years on a car she didn't have. Thief has never had her day in court.

Unbelievable, but I have heard this of the Jomtiem box before.

Thai specialty; same with my tools or my beautiful ladder; "we" come to borrow them from me but they don't give them back to me; now everything is locked up and the borrower must give me a pledge in the form of a nice 1000 baht note if he wants to borrow a tool (or the scale) again 1

I notice the in-laws when borrowing stuff won't return it until I go round to ask for it. 1

Putting things back where they found them. Showing respect for other people's property. It isn't going to happen! Neither a borrower nor a lender be; For loan oft loses both itself and friend.
