Medical masks and hand-santising gels have become scarce, Songkhla commerce official Chatsuda Chumsaeng said today (March 2).

“The number of masks has been inadequate for a week now, especially paper ones,” she said.

“Each store told me that their dealers cannot send them the products. In some stores, the masks have been scarce for almost a month,” Chatsuda said.

Songkhla’s commerce office has ordered masks through Blue Flag shops since February 20 but have yet to receive any, she added.

Meanwhile, the stock of sanitising gels on the market has decreased, since people, closely following news of the virus, are buying up the product.

Since the primary protective measure of a mask is to stop you from touching your face with contaminated fingers, any mask will do, just DIY. And remember to wear shades to prevent poking your eyes and wash 'em hands. Or wear a straitjacket.
