Kamala Mountain Burning

Featured Replies

Not sure how it started. Looks like they got the original fire out, but hot spots moving up the mountain. Mostly smoke now, burning the underbrush, but can see some flame as dusk comes. Two fire trucks here since 4pm or so, not much they can do now. Lots of dry stuff near top.

When you say 'Kamala Mountain' do you mean Naka Hill at the South end of town or the big hill just past Fantasea at the north end of tow? Heard a load of sirens earlier but missed where they were headed. I was up on the ridge yesterday and it was VERY dry (no I DON't Smoke before people start!!).

North end. You can see fire now that it's dark.

Now four fire trucks. Not sure where the new ones came from. I can see flashlights on the mountain, men trying to get the flames out.
Another firetruck heading up now.

Fire teams pulling out, can't blame them at all. The fire is on the mountain, nothing to do but let it burn out.

WOW, I stand corrected. It appears the men have taken out two of the three hot spots, with shovel and dirt. Amazing.

Still one more hot spot on the North West side of mountain. I can see flames from 600 meters away.
